    Abstract: Methods are provided for communicating in a mobile network, the mobile network comprising a plurality of infrastructure equipment, each providing wireless connectivity within at least one cell, and a device configured to communicate wirelessly with at least a first of the infrastructure equipment in control of a first cell. In some embodiments, the method comprises determining, at the device, whether a second cell under control of a second of the infrastructure equipment is connected to a first core network operating in accordance with a first protocol or both of the first core network and a second core network operating in accordance with a second protocol, and transmitting, by the device, an automatic neighbor relation report to the first infrastructure equipment, a report comprising an indication of whether the second cell is connected to the first core network or both of the first core network and the second core network.

    Abstract: A method is performed in a first infrastructure equipment for a handover of a wireless device from the first infrastructure equipment as a source to a second infrastructure equipment as a target. The method comprises maintaining a mapping between a plurality of packet bearers and a data radio bearer for the wireless device, each of the plurality of packet bearers being configured to provide a specified quality of service, determining that the wireless device should handover from the first infrastructure equipment to the second infrastructure equipment, determining that the second infrastructure equipment does not support the mapping of the plurality of packet bearers to the data radio bearer, and providing an indication of a mapping of the plurality of packet bearers for the second infrastructure equipment after handover to one of a core network equipment and the second infrastructure equipment.

    Abstract: An infrastructure equipment transmitting/receiving data to/from one or more communications devices in a wireless communications network, includes a transmitter, receiver, and controller controlling the transmitter and receiver to provide a wireless access interface providing communications resources arranged in time divided units of a system bandwidth providing plural blocks of communications resources, and one or more narrowband carriers. Each carrier provides, within a carrier frequency bandwidth, communications resources for allocation to narrow band communications devices, the carrier bandwidth being less than and within the system bandwidth, signals being transmitted to the narrowband communications devices via the narrow band carriers with a first power. The controller controls the transmitter to transmit signals on a down-link of a narrowband carrier to a narrow-band communications device with an increased power, power of the signals being increased to a greater second power to reduce a time of communicating a high priority message.

    Abstract: A method of operating first and second terminal devices for transmitting data in a device-to-device communication mode in a wireless telecommunications system supporting communications on a first carrier operating over a first frequency band and a second carrier operating over a second frequency band. The first terminal device transmits control signalling on the first carrier and this is received by the second terminal device. The control signalling comprises an indication of that the first terminal device intends to transmit data to the second terminal device using the device-to-device communication mode on the second carrier after a carrier switch-over time. The first terminal device then proceeds to transmit data to the second terminal device on the second carrier using the device-to-device communication mode after the carrier switch-over time. The first and second terminal devices may cease communications on the second carrier after a carrier switch-back time.

    Abstract: A wireless telecommunications system including first and second groups of terminal devices operable to communicate with a base station via respective first and second network nodes. Each of the first and second groups of terminal devices are synchronized to communicate with the first and second network nodes, respectively, in a discontinuous mode including a repeating signalling cycle including first and second wake periods. The first wake period is a first portion of the repeating signalling cycle and the start of the first wake period is defined by a first offset value relative to the start of the repeating signalling cycle. The second wake period is a second portion of the repeating signalling cycle and the start of the second wake period is defined by a second offset value relative to the start of the repeating signalling cycle, being different from the first offset value.
