    Abstract: A method, for a UE in a network, for requesting an emergency service is disclosed. The method comprises: when an emergency service is required, if the UE is using CP CIoT optimization, transmitting a NAS message including an indication that an emergency service is requested. The NAS message may be a CPSR message, and the indication may be a predetermined value (e.g. denoting “emergency service”) in a predetermined field (e.g. Control plane service type field) of the message. Alternatively, the NAS message may be a Service Request message, the indication may be a predetermined value (e.g. denoting “emergency service” or “emergency service fallback”) in a predetermined field (e.g. Service type field) of the message, and transmitting the Service Request message may be prioritised over transmitting a message (e.g. CPSR message) for sending data (e.g. not related to an emergency service).

    Abstract: Embodiments herein disclose methods for handling operation of a UE during a disaster situation by the UE. The method includes initiating a wait timer upon selecting a forbidden public land mobile network (FPLMN) to receive a disaster roaming service. Further, the method includes determining whether at least one of: a MS is registered via a non-3GPP access or 3GPP access to another allowable PLMN, the FPLMN has stopped broadcasting a disaster related indication, and the FPLMN has stopped broadcasting the PLMN with the disaster condition. Further, the method includes stopping the wait timer and performing a PLMN selection procedure based on the determination. The provided method optimizes the operations in disaster situations.

    Abstract: The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. The embodiment herein is to disclose a method for selecting PLMN with disaster condition (PLMN-D) to receive disaster roaming service in an area. The method includes detecting, by a UE, a disaster condition in the area. Further, the method includes detecting, by the UE, a forbidden PLMN (FPLMN) broadcasting a plurality of PLMN-Ds in the area. Further, the method includes camping, by the UE, the FPLMN corresponding to the at least one selected PLMN-D. Further, the method includes triggering, by the UE, a registration procedure on the camped FPLMN by indicating the at least one selected PLMN-D in the registration request message.
