    摘要: An object is to provide a cage and a thrust roller bearing with improved oil passage performance of a lubricating oil in the inside of a bearing while holding a needle roller in a stable manner so as to ensure excellent durability. The thrust roller bearing includes a needle roller and a cage holding the needle roller in pockets for accommodating the same. A length La of a roller holding portion provided in the pocket is set to be within a range of 30% to 80% of a length in a radial direction of the pocket.

    摘要: Surface indentation and oil film shortage on rollers is prevented and longer service life of a roller bearing is achieved, by preventing wear debris from being caught and accumulated in pockets of a holder of the roller bearing. Positions and dimensional relations of the diameters of inner and outer ring raceways, the inner and outer diameters of the holder, and inner and outer protrusions which are provided to pillar parts of the holder to prevent the rollers from coming off are defined such that the inner and outer protrusions of the pillar parts always do not come into contact with the outer circumferential surfaces of the rollers in the state where the rollers and the holder are incorporated between inner and outer members. As a result, lubricant oil is smoothly circulated in gaps formed between the outer circumferential surfaces of the rollers and the pillar parts of the holder.

    摘要: A thrust needle roller bearing and a method for manufacturing the bearing with improved lubricant circulating ability, reduced drilling abrasion of the cage, and improved durability of the bearing has a plurality of needle rollers and two annular cages. Each of the cages is formed with a plurality of pockets. Each pocket has a radial length longer than the height of the roller. The two annular cages hold the needle rollers by sandwiching them between the cages within roller holding portions formed in the pockets. The radial length of each of the roller holding portions of the cages is formed shorter than the height of the roller. The two cages are assembled by folding them as a unit so that both the portions of the unit on either radially outer and inner side of the roller holding portions have their axial thickness smaller than that of the roller holding portions. The two cages are secured to one another at both their radially outermost and innermost end portions.

    摘要: The object is to efficiently subject steel retainers of needle roller bearings to heat treatment in a short period of time even in small-lot production using compact treatment facilities, thereby producing retainers having improved resistance to wear and surface damage and high in fatigue strength and fracture strength as a whole. The steel retainer 3, which retains needle rollers 2, is formed from a steel plate containing 0.15 to 1.10% by mass of carbon. After forming, the steel plate is subjected to induction heat treatment comprising induction hardening and induction tempering. Such heat treatment can be carried out efficiently in a short period of time, using compact treatment facilities, even in small-lot production. The retainer 3 thus formed is sufficiently resistant to wear and surface damage, and is high in fatigue strength and fracture strength as a whole.

The rollers (2) are accommodated within respective pockets (106) each defined between the neighboring pillars (105). One or both of the annular portions (103, 104) are provided with roller retaining pawls (107) of a bent shape in respective portions of inner peripheral portions of the annular portions (103, 104) at a location aligned with the neighboring rollers (2) for constraining the rollers (2) from separating in a direction radially inwardly of the roller retainer (1). The roller retaining pawls (107) are annealed or treated not to be carburized to have a hardness about equal to or lower than the hardness of the roller retainer (1) and equal to or lower than Hv 400.
