    摘要: A universal joint includes a bearing including a bearing cup fitted in a bearing hole of a yoke and rolling elements arranged between the bearing cup and a shaft portion of a cross shaft. A method for manufacturing the universal joint includes: simulating a shrunken state in which a sample bearing cup selected from bearing cups in a same lot is fitted in the bearing hole such that only an outside diameter is restrained, by press-fitting the sample bearing cup into a reference hole of a reference jig; measuring a diameter of an inscribed circle inscribed to the rolling elements in the shrunken state; setting an outside diameter of the shaft portion to a required outside diameter according to the diameter of the inscribed circle; and inserting the bearing cup with the rolling elements between the shaft portion having the required outside diameter and the bearing hole.

    摘要: A cam follower assembly includes a shaft having a body defining a flanged head having an outer bearing surface extending therefrom. An outer ring is positioned around the shaft thereby forming an annular space there between. A plurality of rollers is positioned in the annular space. A channel extends through the shaft and branches radially outward at an outlet to communicate with the annular space. A lubrication assembly is positioned in the shaft and includes a pressurizing device located upstream of a lubrication reservoir and a metering device positioned downstream of the lubrication reservoir. The lubrication reservoir is in fluid communication with the outlet. The lubrication assembly includes a membrane positioned downstream of the lubrication reservoir. A piercing device is positioned proximate the membrane to pierce the membrane and release a lubricant from the lubrication reservoir.

    摘要: A bearing arrangement for a camshaft and a camshaft are provided. The bearing arrangement includes a bearing point in a bearing support frame that receives a camshaft, a bearing rolling-element cage and a bearing outer sleeve. The rolling-element cage and the outer sleeve are configured such that the outer diameter of the outer sleeve is smaller than the inside diameter of the bearing point and the outer diameter of the rolling-element cage is smaller than the inner diameter of the outer sleeve. The rolling-element cage may be provided with retention features that axially secure the cage to the outer sleeve. The rolling-element cage and/or the outer sleeve may be provided with collars that axially constrain the bearing relative to the support frame. A camshaft including at least one such bearing arrangement is also provided.

    摘要: A chain guide is provided which reduces moving resistance of a camshaft-driving, torque-transmitting timing chain. The chain guide includes a guide base (21) provided on one side of the timing chain (5) to face the timing chain and having an opposed pair of side plates (22). The side plates support the respective ends of roller shafts (31) each rotatably supporting a chain-guiding needle roller bearing (41). Each needle roller bearing includes a retainer (43) guided by the needle roller elements (45). With this arrangement, the outer races (42) of the bearings, which guide the movement of the timing chain (5) while kept in rolling contact with the timing chain, encounter less rotational resistance. This in turn reduces moving resistance of the timing chain (5) and thus fuel consumption.
