摘要: A multi-ringed fluorescent lamp includes a multi-ringed bulb, a phosphor layer formed on an inner surface of the bulb, a pair of electrodes and discharge medium with which the bulb is filled. The bulb includes ring bulbs in each of which straight portions and bent portions are placed alternately on a same plane, by bending partially a glass tube having an outside diameter of 12-20 mm into a rectangular shape, so that opposite ends of the tube terminate with the adjacent straight portions. The ring bulbs are placed concentrically on the same plane and connected through a bridge connection portion to form a single discharge path. A gap between adjacent bent portions is larger than a gap between adjacent straight tube portions and has a maximum value of 6-15 mm. The electrodes are provided in opposite ends of the discharge path of the multi-ringed bulb.

摘要: A printing apparatus of the invention prints images by ejecting ink from nozzles onto a printing medium. The printing apparatus includes a first sub-tank which is set at the relatively high position, a second sub-tank which is set at the relatively low position (position set relative to one another), and a main tank which holds ink to be supplied to the first and second sub-tanks. When ink is supplied to the first sub-tank, the ink is supplied from the main tank with relatively high pressure. When ink is supplied to the second sub-tank, the ink is supplied from the main tank with relatively low pressure. The first and second pressures are pressures such that ink is not ejected from the opening of the nozzles when ink is supplied from the main tank to the sub-tanks in the situation that ink can be supplied from the sub-tank to the opening of the nozzles. With this printing apparatus, ink can be supplied efficiently from the main tank to the sub-tanks arranged at the different heights.

摘要: There is provided a multi-ringed bulb including a plurality of ring bulbs in which a plurality of straight tube portions having an outside diameter of from 12 to 20 mm are connected to each other through bent portions on a same plane. Electrodes are provided hermetically at respective ends of outermost and innermost bulbs of the plurality of ring bulbs. A connection portion connects other adjacent ends of the outermost and innermost bulbs to each other so that the outermost and innermost bulbs communicate with each other, to form a single discharge path. A phosphor layer is formed on inner surfaces of at least the straight tube portions 5a of the inner and outer bulbs. The multi-ringed structure bulb is filled with discharge medium. The above-mentioned structure permits to provide a fluorescent lamp and a lighting apparatus, which have a small strain in the inner and outer bulbs, a high strength and an excellent luminous efficiency.

摘要: Quality of a printed image is improved while minimizing the amount of memory used. For example, a print-control method includes: a first print-control step of repeatedly performing a unit image formation operation of forming a unit image in a unit area on a medium by ejecting ink from nozzles arranged in a predetermined direction and moved in a movement direction, and a first carrying operation of carrying the medium by a predetermined carry amount, to print an image in an end portion, in a carrying direction, of the medium; and a second print-control step of repeatedly performing the unit image formation operation and a second carrying operation of carrying the medium by another predetermined carry amount, to print an image in an intermediate portion, in the carrying direction, of the medium. Darkness of each of the unit images within a mixed range, in which unit images printed in the first print-control step and unit images printed in the second print-control step are mixed, is corrected based on a correction value used in the second print-control step.

摘要: The present invention prevents deterioration of the picture quality due to a deviation of dot-forming positions on each raster line without lowering the printing speed. In a printing system of the present invention, a print head of each color has a plurality of nozzle groups arranged in parallel in a main scanning direction. The number of nozzle groups is equal to N1 and each nozzle group includes a plurality of nozzles aligned in a sub-scanning direction. An interval between the adjoining nozzle groups in the main scanning direction is set equal to a pitch of k1 dots, which is prime to the number of nozzle groups N1. The printing system of the present invention scans the print head thus constructed in the main scanning direction and drives the plurality of nozzle groups simultaneously on the print head to record dots every time when the print head shifts by N1 pixels in the main scanning direction. This structure enables each raster line in the main scanning direction to be recorded by different nozzles in one main scan. This causes a deviation of dot-forming positions due to a distribution of ink-spouting characteristics of the individual nozzles to be effectively dispersed on each raster line and thereby improves the picture quality of a resulting printed image. The structure does not increase the number of main scans required to form each raster line, thus not lowering the printing speed.
