Abstract: A device and method of marking an elongated element for bending. A template is provided that has a body with a first end, an opposite second end, a first side edge, and a second side edge. The body also includes a concave surface that extends between the first end and the second end. Length indicia are disposed on the body adjacent the first straight side edge. Angle indicia are disposed on the body adjacent the first end. Utilizing a marker and the template, a start line and a finish line are marked onto the elongated element. Additionally, a guideline is marked on the elongated element that extends from the start line to the finish line. At least one bend is formed in the elongated element between the start line and the finish line. The bends progress along the marked guideline.

Abstract: Devices for implanting a prosthetic device, such as an artificial spinal implant, are provided. The installation tool can include a body, a pair of opposed levers, an optional implant holder disposed between the levers, a drive rod at least partially disposed within the body and able to be coupled to the implant holder and/or implant, and a female threaded member associated with the body and selectively engageable with the drive rod. As the drive rod translates along a longitudinal axis of the installation tool, the implant holder and/or implant separates the levers and distracts adjacent vertebral bodies to position a prosthetic device therebetween. The implant holder and/or implant can be longitudinally advanced in rotation and/or translation modes.

Abstract: A banana-shaped cage adapted for use as an intervertebral fusion cage, wherein the leading direction of the nose of the banana cage is substantially in-line with the angle of the inserter shaft that inserts the cage into the disc space. It has been found that insertion of this cage requires lower insertion forces than the conventional cage whose leading direction substantially follows the arc of the banana curve.

Abstract: The present invention provides a star-connected network (C1-C4, P1-P8) having a number of peripheral nodes (P1-P8) and a central control arrangement (C1-C4). Abstract: The present application discloses a method and a system for authenticating software products. Computer software is often sold with a unique validation number. In order to register the product a user has to connect to a remote server and he is then asked to enter the validation number. The disadvantage of this is that it can take time, and further the verification can be delayed or entirely prevented due to network problems. The invention solves this problem by supplying a validator (219) with the software product so that the user can register and validate the software product off-line. In order to achieve this the validation number comprises an index and a validation code, which is the index signed with the software producer's private key. A corresponding public key (203) is distributed to the user and the user can then operate on the validation code and index using the validator (219) and the public key (203) to validate the validation code as one generated from the applied index and the private key.
