摘要: A method of modulating, regulating and/or stabilizing angiogenesis in a mammal in need thereof, in which the PDGF-D level or activity or both in the mammal are modulated or increased. In preferred embodiments, an active PDGF-D polypeptide, or a polynucleotide encoding an active PDGF-D is administered to the mammal, preferably at a location where angiogenesis modulation or stabilization is desired. The PDGF-D is advantageously co-administered with an angiogenic growth factor, such as a member of the VEGF family of growth factors, in particular VEGF-E. The claimed method inhibits leakage of blood vessels and is useful, inter alia, for treatment of edemas.

摘要: A method and kit for detecting the presence of tumor cells in an animal by detecting expression of VEGF-B186, determining an increased expression of VEGF-B186, or by determining an increased expression of VEGF-B186 relative to expression of VEGF-B167. The kit comprises a receptacle adapted to receive a sample and a means for detecting expression of VEGF-B186 from the sample. Also, a method for screening for anti-tumor agents.

摘要: In a TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) wireless communication system, mobile stations are sorted according to their PV (Protocol Version), and packed by an enhanced FRP (Frequency Re-Packing) function or an enhanced IDCS (Interference Driven Channel Selection) function so mixing of mobile stations with different PVs on the same carrier will be avoided as far as possible. This allows mobile station capabilities to be used with greater advantage, in situations where a protocol or other performance feature used on a carrier must be compatible with the least capable mobile station on the carrier. In a broader sense, the mobile stations can be sorted and then allocated based on any appropriate indicator of mobile station capability, for example PV, mobile station ESN (Electronic Serial Number), and so forth. In this way, a common capability of all mobiles on the same carrier, can be maximized for some or all carriers within a cell. Thus, an overall efficiency or performance level of the mobile system can be enhanced or maximized.

摘要: A tube heat exchanger for the production of carbon black includes a support plate located at the lower end of a space through which heat exchanger tubes extend. The plate includes upper and lower spar support plates forming a spar space therebetween through which the heat exchanger tubes extend. The spar space is divided into a plurality of canals by partition walls. Each canal has its own inlet and outlet for conducting a flow of cooling medium. The flow direction of cooling medium in each canal is opposite that of an adjacent canal. Portions of the support plate are formed of an aluminum-containing, iron-based alloy produced powder-metallurgically.
