摘要： Disclosed is a communication technique using the change of type of a femto base station. The femto base station is able to change the type of CSG opening/closing depending on conditions, and broadcasts the information on the change. A terminal is able to determine the network entry/handover to a corresponding femto cell by using the broadcasted information. The change of cell type of a CSG femto cell can be used when interference adjustment is required depending on the resource conditions of a femto cell.

More specifically the method comprises: submitting a media independent handover (MIH) query to a base station (BS) by sending a first request message, and receiving a response to the MIH query. Because the first request message is used for authorization, preferably the PKM message, the MS can acquire information for handover between heterogeneous networks before the MS finishes the network entry.

The method includes receiving an Advanced Air Interface Ranging Response (AAI_RNG-RSP) message including an unsolicited bandwidth indicator from a Base Station (BS), the unsolicited bandwidth indicator indicating that the BS will allocate an uplink bandwidth to the MS, for transmission of a Medium Access Control (MAC) message, without solicitation from the MS, and monitoring an Advanced MAP Information Element (A-A-MAP IE) for a predefined time after the reception of the AAI_RNG-REQ message.

摘要： A method for performing a handover in a mobile communication system, which is capable of independently performing an uplink handover and a downlink handover, is disclosed. An uplink channel status of a base station is checked and the uplink handover to a base station having a good uplink channel status is performed. A downlink channel status of a base station is checked and the downlink handover to a base station having a good downlink channel status is performed. Accordingly, an uplink base station and a downlink base station may be different from each other. Transmission/reception efficiency can be improved by independently performing the handover.

A method for allowing a base station to perform coverage loss detection of a mobile station in a broadband wireless access system includes unsolicitedly transmitting a first message wherein a bit for requesting ranging execution is set, to the mobile station, and upon receiving a second message for confirming the ranging from the mobile station prior to expiration of a first timer that begins to operate when the first message is transmitted, restarting operating a second timer established for the mobile station.
