摘要:
A fuel cell system includes a fuel cell which has a catalyst layer therein and which receives supply of a reactive gas to generate power, and a refrigerant system which supplies a refrigerant to the fuel cell to control its temperature. A method for stopping an operation of the system is also provided. When operated in a low-temperature environment, the system cannot be restarted due to freezing in the fuel cell. When the temperature of the fuel cell during the next system start is a predetermined temperature or less, the supply of the refrigerant is stopped during the system stop, and the supply of the refrigerant is resumed after elapse of a predetermined time.

The present invention provides a fuel cell system that controls a pressure for a fuel gas supplied to a fuel cell so that the anode-cathode differential pressure between an anode and a cathode of a fuel cell is maintained within a predetermined range, in order to provide a desired generation amount while reducing the amount of fuel gas discharged to the exterior of the system even if it is difficult to provide an appropriate fuel gas supply amount for a fuel cell load (the generation requirement on the cell). If the system determines that the amount of fuel gas supplied to the fuel cell is less than an appropriate required gas amount for the load (generation requirement) (step S9: NO), for example, if the concentration of nitrogen in the fuel gas reaches a predetermined value or greater, the open and close state of shut-off valves H3, H3A is switched to increase the pressure for the fuel gas supplied to the fuel cell 20 (step S11).

An hybrid system (10) of the invention includes a fuel cell unit (20) that generates electricity upon being supplied with reaction gases, a secondary battery (40) that stores electric power generated by the fuel cell unit (20), and an electric power control device (30) that controls distribution of electric power supplied to electric power loads (M1, M2) from the fuel cell unit (20) and the secondary battery (40). The secondary battery (40) has a capacity characteristic of being able to supply the requested amounts of electric power of the electric power loads (M1, M2) at least during an early stage following restart of operation of the fuel cell unit (20) from a state of pause of operation.

Disclosed is a fuel tank system capable of suppressing stagnation of fuel between check valves arranged in a fuel filling path. The fuel tank system has the fuel filling path which supplies fuel to a fuel tank through a filling port, and at least two check valves arranged in series in the fuel filling pat. The valve opening pressure of one check valve arranged on the fuel tank side is set to be smaller than that of the other check valve arranged on the filling port side.

A fuel cell system of the present invention comprises a fuel cell which is supplied with a fuel gas and an oxidizing gas to generate electricity, a fuel gas supply interrupting device for interrupting the fuel gas supply to an anode inlet of the fuel cell, and an anode-off gas interrupting device for interrupting the discharge of anode-off gas from an anode outlet of the fuel cell. When a problem occurs in the system, the fuel gas supply interrupting device cuts off the fuel gas supply to the anode inlet, while the anode-off gas interrupting device opens the anode outlet when the problem in the system occurs, and cuts off the anode-off gas once a predetermined condition has been satisfied.

A fuel cell system FC replenishes a fuel cell stack with air or hydrogen by temporarily driving a compressor 41 or a low-pressure valve 24 even during an intermittent operation mode. If air is supplied for replenishment, the amount of air remaining in an air supply system is kept substantially constant, so that the voltage fall during a stop of the fuel cell system can be curbed. If hydrogen is supplied for replenishment, the amount of hydrogen moving to the air supply system is offset, so that a delay in supplying hydrogen can be curbed. Furthermore, the fuel cell system FC inputs signals from a brake sensor 102, a shift selector 104, etc., and anticipates acceleration of a vehicle equipped with the system FC. On the basis of the anticipation of acceleration, the system FC replenishes the fuel cell stack with air or hydrogen in advance.

In a fluid leakage detection apparatus, hydrogen is supplied from a hydrogen tank to an FC stack of a fuel cell via first and second pipes. An inlet valve is provided between the hydrogen tank and the first pipe, and an outlet valve is provided between the first pipe and the second pipe. A controller serves to control valve opening a valve closing operation of the inlet and outlet valves, respectively. Those valves are closed in a state where the pressure within the hydrogen tank is made lower than the pressure within the first pipe, and the pressure within the second pipe is made lower than the pressure within the first pipe by operating those valves. Thereafter, the increase or decrease in the pressure within the first pipe is detected by a pressure gauge such that the leakage in the inlet valve or the outlet valve is determined. This makes it possible to detect the leakage both in the inlet valve and the outlet valve at the same time.
