Abstract: A snowmobile including a chassis, a body secured to the chassis, a ski suspension, an engine, an exhaust pipe, a resonator, and an outlet pipe. The body includes a belly pan. The ski suspension is mounted to the chassis. The belly pan forms a suspension well around at least a portion of the ski suspension. The engine is mounted to the chassis and includes an exhaust exit port. The exhaust pipe is mounted to the exhaust exit port. The resonator is secured to the chassis and in fluid communication with the exhaust pipe. The outlet pipe is secured to a forward side of the resonator and extends through the rearward side of the suspension well, rearward of the suspension. The terminal end of the outlet pipe is directed downwardly and includes a deflector shield thereabout. A heat shield is also secured to the belly pan below the terminal end of the outlet pipe.

Abstract: Herein is disclosed a snowmobile with an improved center of gravity. The snowmobile utilizes an oil pan with a bottom portion and a set of side portions that cooperate with the bottom portion to form a sump in which oil collects. The bottom portion may be grooved to permit a steering shaft to pass through the groove, thereby extending from one side of the oil pan to the other side. Optionally the bottom portion is formed to be congruous with a surface of a mechanism, such as a steering shaft, positioned at least partially beneath the oil pan. Furthermore, the oil pan may have a reduced depth.

Abstract: A chain and sprocket mechanism having a first sprocket, a second sprocket, and a chain engaged with the first and second sprockets, such that rotating the first sprocket moves the second sprocket via the chain. A tensioner is engaged with the chain between the first and second sprockets so as to apply tension to the chain. The tensioner is at least partly made of an elastic material, such as rubber or flexible plastic. Abstract: The top wall of a snowmobile tunnel, which accommodates the endless drive track of the snowmobile, is provided with recesses at locations corresponding to the path followed by studs carried by the endless track. In another aspect of the invention, the rear of the tunnel is connected to a molded rear member. The rear member provides a downwardly curving back portion for the tunnel. The rear member may have a shape corresponding to that of the tunnel, e.g. having a pattern of recesses matching that of the top wall of the tunnel. In yet another aspect of the invention, a heat exchanger for cooling engine coolant may be provided at the rear of the tunnel. The heat exchanger may be mounted to and partially spaced from the molded rear member, thereby permitting snow thrown by the endless track to pass on both sides of the heat exchanger. In another aspect of the invention, a tunnel for a snowmobile may be narrower in the front than in the rear.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for controlling a headlight system. The apparatus includes a control yoke control unit having a brake control, a dimmer switch, an actuating mechanism, and at least one control support for supporting the brake control and dimmer switch. Abstract: An apparatus and method for controlling a power winch, and a kit and method for retrofitting an existing control block to control a power winch. Abstract: A watercraft of the jet propulsion type comprising a steering mechanism, a throttle control mechanism, a thrust mechanism, a throttle regulator and a controlled thrust steering system. The steering mechanism has a straight-ahead position. The steering mechanism is able to rotate in a clockwise direction from the straight-ahead position to a clockwise position and in a counter-clockwise direction from the straight-ahead position to a counter-clockwise position.
