    摘要: Device for producing a vacuum using the Venturi effect are disclosed that have a housing defining a suction chamber, defining a motive passageway includes a tapering portion most proximate the suction chamber that convergingly tapers from a motive entrance to a motive exit into the suction chamber, the motive exit being in fluid communication with the suction chamber, and defining a discharge passageway having a discharge entrance in fluid communication with the suction chamber and divergingly tapering as it extends away from the suction chamber, and having a solid fletch centered within the tapering portion. The device can include a fletch-partition disposed in the motive passageway and dividing the motive passageway into two flow paths along opposing sides of the partition. The solid fletch divergingly tapers toward the suction chamber as it extends from the partition, thereby providing a circumferentially continuous flow of fluid around the fletch.

Within the suction chamber, a motive exit of the motive passageway is spaced apart a distance from a discharge entrance of the discharge passageway to define a Venturi gap. A fletch that has a first hollow body section that terminates at or proximate a motive exit and a second hollow body section that terminates with a fletch entrance in fluid communication with the suction passageway upstream of the first port is present in the motive passageway. During operation, fluid flow through the motive passageway draws fluid flow through the first port into the suction chamber and through the fletch.

    摘要: Valves having a sprung gate of various constructions are disclosed. In one embodiment, the sprung gate includes a first endless elastic band having an inner perimeter defining an open space sandwiched between a first gate member and a second gate member that each define an opening therethrough in an open position portion thereof. The first endless elastic band is sandwiched therebetween with its open space oriented for alignment with the opening in both of the first and second gate members, which are aligned with one another to form a passage through the sprung gate. In one aspect, the first endless elastic band in positioned inward a distance from the outer sides of the first and second gate members and spaces the first gate member a distance apart from the second gate member thereby defining a channel having a bottom defined by the first endless elastic band.

    摘要: A two-position gate valve has a gate defining a full-flow passageway therethrough and defining a restricted-flow passageway therethrough, without defining a closed position. The full-flow passageway has an entrance with a first area and an exit with a second area, the second area being smaller than the first area, and the full-flow passageway continuously tapers from the entrance to the exit thereof. The restricted-flow passageway has an entrance with a third area and has an exit with a fourth area, the fourth area being smaller than the first area, the second area, and the third area, and the restricted-flow passageway continuously tapers from the entrance to the exit thereof. Flow through the full-flow passageway is in a first direction and flow through the restricted-flow passageway is also in the first direction and the ratio of the fourth area to the second area is in a range of 5 to 15.

    摘要: Radial vibration dampers have an inertia member defining an annular channel having (i) a radially facing, open face; (ii) a bottom surface; and (iii) interior, opposing surfaces. The interior, opposing surfaces are each angled outward away from a central transverse plane through the inertia member at an angle in a range from zero degrees to at most 45 degrees. A spring damper member is seated in the annular channel to a selected depth that defines a damper gap between a radial inner surface of the spring damper member and the bottom surface of the annular channel and defines a clearance gap between the shaft and the inertia member. A tuning ratio of the clearance gap to the selected depth is in a range of about 1:1.5 to about 1:0.5.
