Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method for a waveguide system may be used to support eye tracking in a head mounted display (HMD). The waveguide system may be positioned in a user's field of view and within a lens assembly of the HMD to capture light that is reflected from an eye. The waveguide system may have a number of multi-directional gratings configured to direct light to an out-coupling grating. The multi-directional gratings include first and second in-coupling diffraction gratings disposed in a waveguide. The first and second in-coupling diffraction gratings are oriented to direct incident light in multiple directions within the waveguide towards the out-coupling diffraction grating.

Abstract: In one aspect, the systems and methods may automatically trigger ranging include a device which may establish a connection between a first device comprising a first ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna and a second device having a second UWB antenna. The device may receive from one or more motion sensors of the first device, motion data of the first device during an inactive ranging phase. The device may determine to switch from the inactive ranging phase to an active ranging phase responsive to the motion data indicating motion of the first device satisfying a threshold criteria. The device may perform a first ranging operation between the first device and the second device using the first UWB antenna of the first device and the second UWB antenna of the second device, responsive to switching from the inactive ranging phase to the active ranging phase.

Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method for an imaging system that compensates for chromatic aberration. The imaging system may include a metalens that provides image light to a camera module. The camera module may include an optical splitter and a number of image sensors. The optical splitter separates the image light into a number of color components. The optical splitter directs the number of color components to individual image sensors. Processing logic may adjust image data for each of the color components to compensate for chromatic aberration. Processing logic may form a single chromatic aberration corrected image by recombining the adjusted image data from each of the color components.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for determining if a player has reached a certain level of gameplay-performance while playing a game within a virtual reality, VR, environment. The player wears a headset having a display for viewing the VR environment and an object tracking system. The headset's object tracking system is capable of tracking movement of a portion of the player in 3-D space to establish an actual-response path by the player during gameplay. The method includes calculating, at a first time, an ideal-response path of gameplay for the tracked portion of the player in 3-D space. The ideal-response path is the path that will achieve the certain level of gameplay performance. The method then compares, at a second time, the actual-response path with the calculated ideal-response path, and finally indicates, in response to a match in the comparing step, that the play has reached a certain level of gameplay performance.

Abstract: A head-mounted device may include a frame, a display coupled to the frame, a front head-engaging structure coupled to the frame, a retention mechanism configured to secure the front head-engaging structure to the head of the user, and one or more non-contact sensor(s) disposed on one or more of the frame, the display, the retention mechanism, and/or the front head-engaging structure. The non-contact sensor(s) may be configured to detect a measurement of the head of the user. In some examples, the measurement may include a head circumference, a size and/or shape of the head. In some examples, the head-mounted device may dynamically adjust a length of the retention mechanism based in part on the sensor data received from the one or more non-contact sensor(s).

Abstract: A necklace manager of an interactive necklace can sense user conditions and transmit messages to recipient computing devices. The necklace manager can compare sensed user conditions from the interactive necklace sensors to predefined user condition templates to determine a match. The matching predefined user condition template can be mapped to a user intent. The necklace manager can, in response to mapping the sensed user conditions to the user intent, transmit a message to a recipient device that is based on the mapped user intent and a user identifier. In some implementations, the recipient device can be an other interactive necklace that performs a mapped interactive necklace action in response to the received message. For example, a wearer of the recipient interactive necklace can perceive sentiments, emotions, and/or reactions from a user wearing the originating interactive necklace by perceiving interactive necklace actions triggered by the received message.
