    Abstract: A method for lifting a payload of an offshore platform is provided. The offshore platform comprises a support structure supporting the payload. The payload includes a main deck and a column directly connected to the support structure, the column supporting the main deck. The method includes coupling a plurality of tension rods to a lower lifting device, having a welding surface weldable to a welding portion of the column and an upper lifting device having a coupling interface such that the plurality of tension rods connect the lower lifting device and the upper lifting device. The plurality of extendable tension rods can extend along a rod direction between the lower lifting device and the upper lifting device to separate the payload from the support structure. At least some of the tension rods of the plurality of tension rods are pre-tensioned to exert a compressive action to the payload.

    Abstract: A method approximates and connects an off shore riser duct to a floating unit, includes installing a tubular coupling recipient on the floating unit at a riser coupling level, the coupling recipient having an annular side wall extending around a longitudinal axis. A pulling device is on the floating unit at a pulling device level above the riser coupling level. The pulling device pulls a line extended through the coupling recipient and connected to a pulling head at a riser duct upper end. The riser duct upper end is pulled into the coupling recipient, providing a locking mechanism to lock a coupling adapter against downward withdrawal. Extending the line along a curved deviating surface deviates the pulling direction. The curved deviating surface is formed by a deviating member connected to the coupling recipient at a distance from the longitudinal axis smaller than an annular side wall to longitudinal axis distance.

    Abstract: A system for levelling and gripping a jacket leg into a hollow foundation pile has a levelling assembly for adjusting the longitudinal axis of a jacket leg partially inserted in a hollow foundation pile with an actuation group arranged about the jacket leg and configured to exert a force parallel to the longitudinal axis between the upper edge of the hollow foundation pile and the jacket leg and selectively attachable to the jacket leg and recoverable for further use in another levelling assembly; and a gripping assembly for locking the jacket leg in a designated position with respect to the hollow foundation pile once leveled.

    Abstract: A welding support block supports, from the rear surface of a joint to be welded, a weld pool created during a welding process. The welding support block comprises a block of metal and an outer layer of ceramic material providing a supporting surface. The ceramic material layer has a thickness between 0.25 mm and 1.5 mm. The metal material immediately beneath the ceramic material layer is made of steel. An internal line-up clamp for holding pipes in end-to-end alignment ready for welding may include multiple such welding support blocks. The use of such welding support blocks is particularly useful when laying a sour service carrying pipeline (high H2S content).
