摘要： An improved automotive vehicle wheel cover lock for releasably anchoring a wheel cover to a wheel lug stud, the improved wheel cover lock including a flexible cable having an annular terminal defining an opening adapted to receive the wheel lug stud. A locking housing is provided which defines an axially extending bore open at each end and having an internally threaded section at one end thereof and an enlarged section at the opposite end thereof. In addition, the housing defines a pair of aligned passageways which communicate with the enlarged section of the bore and are adapted to receive the cable, and a locking screw is provided which threadably engages the internally threaded section of the body and bears against the cable to deflect the cable within the elastic limits thereof into locking engagement with the edge portions of the housing that define the aligned passageways.

摘要： Anti-theft locking device for securing a wheel medallion to the wheel of a vehicle. The device is utilized with a conventional wheel medallion of the type having spring retainers that protrude from the body of the medallion and extend through an opening at the hub of the wheel. Further, the spring retainers have clips that are configured to pass through the opening and abut the surface of the wheel that is opposite to the body of the medallion. A medallion locking disk is provided that is larger than the opening and which will not pass through the opening. The disk has blades which, in the unlocked condition, fit within the confines of the spring retainers and extend between adjacent clips. In the locked condition, the blades are positioned within the clips to hold the clips in an outward position abutting the surface of the wheel. Thus, the clips are prevented from passing through the opening and the medallion is locked to the wheel.

摘要： A vehicle wheel hub cap having a stylized disk with a pair of spaced openings therein adjacent the outer periphery. An outstanding collar on the disk supports thereon an inflatable tube. A flared retainer rim on the outstanding collar holds the inflatable tube in its assigned position on the collar. An outwardly disposed valve stem on the inflatable tube is aligned with one of the spaced openings in the disk. A removable plug in the opening aligned with the valve stem is adapted to enter into a locking engagement with the disk. The inflatable tube when pressurized expands so as to holdably engage the rim of a conventional vehicle wheel. The hub cap is thus secured against accidental loss or theft, and can be removed only after the inflatable tube has been depressurized.

摘要： A wheel cover locking device is provided for securing an ornamental wheel cover to the lug of the vehicle wheel. An adjustable cable tightening device is arranged beneath the wheel cover with one end of a cable secured to a wheel lug by the wheel lug nut. A rotatable locking bolt is passed through the wheel cover and threadably engages a spool to which the other end of the cable is attached whereby on rotation of the locking bolt by use of a special key, the spool will wind the cable in a tightened position to firmly secure the wheel cover to the vehicle wheel.
