    摘要: A method of inhibiting the formation and deposition of scale forming moieties in aqueous systems by adding water-soluble or water-dispersible polymers is disclosed. The method comprises adding to an aqueous system a polymer having repeat units characterized by the Formula I: Wherein E is the repeat unit remaining after polymerization of an ethylenically unsaturated compound; preferably, a carboxylic acid, sulfonic acid, phosphonic acid, or amide form thereof or mixtures thereof. R1 is H or lower (C1-C4)alkyl. G is —CH2— or —CHCH3—; R2 is &Parenopenst;CH2—CH2—O&Parenclosest;n or &Parenopenst;CH2—CHCH3—O&Parenclosest;n where n ranges from about 1 to 100, preferably about 1 to 20. X is an anionic radical selected from the group consisting of SO3, PO3, or COO; Z is H or hydrogens or any water soluble cationic moiety which counterbalances the valence of the anionic radical X, including but not limited to Na, K, Ca, or NH4. F, when present, is a repeat unit having the structure of Formula II: wherein X and Z are the same as in Formula I. R4 is H or lower (C1-C4)alkyl. R5 is hydroxy substituted alkyl or alkylene having from about 1 to 6 of carbon atoms.

    摘要: The present invention provides an improved scale conditioning composition and method that results in improved dissolution and disruption of tube scale, hardened sludge and other deposits composed primarily of highly densified magnetite such as those found in heat exchange vessels. After treatment with the advanced scale conditioning composition, these magnetite rich deposits are more easily removed using known and commercially available high pressure hydro-mechanical cleaning techniques. The present invention further provides effective cleaning in a short period of time and at relatively low temperatures, while reducing the amount of waste produced and reducing the resulting corrosion of carbon and low alloy steel components within the steam generator during the cleaning process.

    摘要: A method to remove scale build-up in a vessel having at least one screen is described and involves placing a cover inside the vessel such that it is located beneath at least one screen to separate the screen from the rest of the vessel. The cover in the vessel forms an upper portion and a lower portion in the vessel. Preferably, the cover is in close proximity to the screen which is located in the upper portion of the vessel. The method then further includes introducing a chemical formulation into the upper portion of the vessel in a sufficient amount to remove at least a portion of the scale build-up on the screen. A system to remove scale build-up is also described and includes a vessel having at least one screen. The system further includes a cover located inside the vessel and beneath at least one screen to separate the screen from the rest of the vessel and to form an upper portion and a lower portion in the vessel. Normally the cover is in close proximity to the screen. The system further includes a chemical formulation present in the upper portion of the screen to remove scale build-up. The system of the present invention provide an economical and chemical means to remove scale build-up in vessels that are especially large, such as those used in the paper and pulp manufacturing industry. The present invention further reduces the time needed to remove scale build-up in vessels have one or more screens.
