Additive liquid from the canister may be placed into the refrigerant circuit of an air conditioning system by (1) connecting the canister to the circuit after it has been emptied and a vacuum pressure created therein, (2) connecting the canister to the refrigerant circuit suction line during system operation, or (3) connecting the canister to the suction line with the system off, to thereby force refrigerant from the circuit into the canister, and then starting the system to cause the vacuum pressure in the suction line to draw the contents of the canister into the refrigerant circuit.

    摘要: A process for restoring the damaged bottom of a storage tank. The process is initiated by preparing a slurry containing unconsolidated solids and a gelation solution. The gelation solution includes an aqueous liquid solvent, a crosslinkable polymer, and a crosslinking agent. The slurry is placed on the internal bottom surface of the storage tank in a sufficient volume to fully cover the surface. The gelation solution is then gelled substantially to completion in the storage tank to form a gel that binds the unconsolidated solids and converts the slurry into a hardened conglomeration. The hardened conglomeration provides a coat over the internal bottom surface of the storage tank to prevent further damage to the bottom of the tank and leakage therethrough.

    摘要: A process for the sealing and internal repair of systems of laid conduits in which a sealant is introduced into the leaky conduit by means of water, the sealant being a finely divided, inert material. The conduit is emptied and compressed air charged with particles of an abrasive substance is blown through it. The conduit is then internally coated by blowing into it a solvent-free epoxy resin containing a hardener and fibers. Alternatively, the sealant is introduced into the leaky conduit by means of air, the sealant being dry, finely ground, water-swellable bentonite; a dry, hydraulically disintegratable plastic dispersion preparation; or a mixture thereof. The conduit is then filled with a fluid, the fluid being either water or a mixture of steam and air.

    摘要: The invention described herein comprises a two component sealant composition and process for applying the same for repair of ruptures, holes, cracks, etc., in hoses, pipes, tires, etc. The first component is an alpha-cyanoacrylate glue which is applied as a layer covering the rupture or crack and after a very short period the second component, a powder, is applied to the surface of the alpha-cyanoacrylate. This second component comprises a polymerization initiator having hydroxyl and/or carboxylate groups therein, such as carbohydrate, i.e., saccharides, etc., hydrolyzed polyvinylacetate, etc. A particularly preferred initiator is alginate.

A mixture of smooth surfaced particles having a size small relative to the leak size is suspended in refrigeration oil and injected into the refrigerant circuit of a system.     摘要: A one part composition useful as a putty for filling recessed areas in flexible parts of damaged auto bodies and the like is provided. The curable composition has a viscosity in the range of 50,000 to 450,000 cps and comprises by volume 6 to 25 parts binder comprising substantially non-reactive solvent-soluble polyurethane, 43 to 68 parts solvent for the binder and 20 to 42 parts talc filler. Other fillers may also be included. The preferred polyurethane binder is a linear polyurethane elastomer which is substantially free of cross-links and has an elongation at break value in the range of 300-850% and a tensile strength in the range of 1,500 to 7,000 psi.
