摘要： A method of installing an edging system for a unit pavement system includes inserting a main body section of a plate-like stake in a generally horizontal direction underneath at least one paver unit of the plurality of paver units and into a granular material layer upon which the unit pavement system is supported. The method further includes positioning a vertical section of an edge restraint under a horizontal cap section of the plate-like stake such that the vertical section of the edge restraint is arranged parallel to a vertical section of the plate-like stake and underneath a horizontal cap section of the plate-like stake. The method also includes driving a fastener into a ground surface until the fastener engages a horizontal section of the edge restraint. A plate-like stake including a main body section and a clip, which is separate from the main body section, is also disclosed.

摘要： A removable modular slab for use in the construction industry includes upper, lower, and first and second opposing end surfaces, and a conduit extending from the upper surface to an end surface. The slab is abuttable with a second removable modular slab, having: (i) a conduit extending from the upper surface to an end surface, and/or (ii) a cavity extending from an end surface into the slab, whereby the conduits mate to form an elongate conduit through the two slabs. By access through apertures in each slab, a first joining structure is removably locatable to join the two slabs. Cavities may terminate within the second slab and only be accessible through the upper surface of the first slab. A modular surface system includes two such slabs and a joining structure to join the two slabs together.

摘要： A method for interlocking precast concrete sections to create a unified whole. The method allows precast pieces to be substituted for in situ castings in certain applications. Each precast concrete piece has an interlocking feature. The interlocking features are pierced by at least one transverse opening. Once the transverse openings are aligned, a user pours a solidifying substance such as wet concrete into the aligned transverse holes. A reinforcing metal bar may also be placed in the holes. Once the concrete hardens, the precast pieces are linked together.

Each of the elongate bodies also has a thickness and stiffness sufficient, in an unloaded state, to elevate the support structure a distance above the ground surface.

摘要： Fasteners, and related methods, for securing deck boards to a support joist are disclosed. In one embodiment, the fastener comprises a base portion and a cap portion on the base portion. In some embodiments, the base portion includes an opening formed therethrough for receiving a securing device, and legs extending from an upper surface of the base portion and between edges of adjacent deck boards to define a spacing between the adjacent deck boards. The cap portion can include an opening for receiving the securing device therethrough to secure the fastener to the support joist. In addition, the cap portion may include legs extending around the base portion and comprising teeth extending therefrom that bite into grooves formed in the edges of the adjacent deck boards when the securing device secures the fastener to the support joist, thereby securing the deck boards to the support joist.
