    摘要： This invention relates to a pneumatically controlled hydraulically actuated brake apparatus of the constant brake shoe clearance type for a two-axle four-wheel vehicle truck wherein a constant brake shoe clearance is obtained by supplying a quantity of hydraulic fluid to a chamber formed between the wall surfaces of a cylinder and an actuating piston slidably disposed in the chamber in accordance with the increase in volume of the chamber as the result of brake shoe wear while a brake application is in effect and thereafter, upon effecting a brake release, always releasing the same quantity of hydraulic fluid from this chamber irrespective of the degree of brake shoe and/or wheel wear occurring while the prior brake application was in effect.

    摘要： A disk brake is provided with means for intensifying the braking pressure. A friction member for engagement with a side of a rotary disk is fixed to a plate which is mounted at the front end of piston means for movement therewith and in a lateral direction. A pivoted lever is related to the plate so that one arm of the lever is cooperable with a side of the plate and a second arm is cooperable with the rear end of the piston means. When the piston means is actuated to cause engagement of the friction member with the side of the rotating disk, the friction member, which is moved laterally by virtue of its frictional engagement with the rotating disk, carries the plate with it and causes the plate to engage and rotate the lever, thereby causing the lever to exert an increased braking pressure upon the piston means and its associated friction member. Also, means is provided to compensate for the wear of the friction member or members; and the means is provided for maintaining the brake in engaged or parked condition.

    摘要： A pneumatically controlled hydraulically actuated disc-type brake mechanism for use on a wheel and axle assembly of a railway vehicle truck includes a hydraulic-type slack adjuster mechanism automatically operative to compensate for wear of a braking element. The hydraulic-type slack adjuster mechanism comprises a variable volume accumulator into which a hydraulic medium or fluid is forced upon the occurrence of wear of a braking element while a brake application is in effect and from which hydraulic fluid subsequently flows to two pair of hydraulic brake applying cylinders upon initiating a brake release to increase the volume thereof thereby to compensate for brake element wear. Prior to completion of the brake release, hydraulic fluid flows from a storage reservoir to the accumulator to replace that previously supplied from the accumulator to the hydraulic brake applying cylinders.
