    摘要: A caliper brake (10) is adapted to act upon a stator (40) to engage a rotor of a vehicle. A housing (11) carries both a spring applied hydraulically released piston assembly (12) and a pressure intensifying piston assembly (14). The assemblies (12, 14) are in fluid communication with each other. The assembly (12) includes a piston (18) and a spring assembly (20) which urges the piston (18) into a first position engaging the stator (40). The piston assembly (14) includes a pressure intensifying (PI) piston (64) which is in a first position when the piston (18) is in the first position. When the PI piston (64) moves from a first position to a second position, the fluid acts upon the piston (18) thereby disengaging the piston (18) from the stator (40).

    摘要: A brake device for an elevator hoisting machine includes: a rod movable in an axial direction; a plurality of pistons provided to the rod so as to be arranged side by side in the axial direction; a cylinder configured to accommodate each of the pistons therein and including a pressure control chamber formed between the cylinder and each of the pistons; a lining provided to the rod so as to be capable of coming into contact with a contacted body; and a spring device configured to press the pistons in a direction in which the lining is pressed against the contacted body. Gaps are respectively formed between at least one of the plurality of pistons and the rod and between pistons adjacent to each other. Each of the pistons is configured to be driven by a change in air pressure in the pressure control chamber.

The brake actuating apparatus includes a caliper body with a cylinder. An electric motor is fixed to the caliper body. A pressing piston is installed in the cylinder. A housing or plug is installed in and block the cylinder, and a rotational shaft is installed at the center of the housing to be rotated by the motor. A head is attached to the rotational shaft and defines a fluid-receiving space in cooperation with the housing. The rotation of head varies the volume of space, thereby moving the pressing piston.

    摘要: A trailer brake system includes a disc brake assembly for each wheel including apparatus to provide release of the brake pads from engagement with the rotor upon backing. In the preferred braking system, one master brake assembly is provided for braking one wheel and a slave brake assembly for braking a second wheel of the trailer; a self-contained hydraulic device being provided for moving the pads into and out of engagement with the rotor. Each brake assembly includes a stationary bracket for attachment to the axle and a caliper unit with the brake pads mounted by a single pivot pin on the bracket. A relief valve is engaged by the pivoting caliper unit to provide the release of the brake pads. The housing of the caliper unit is in two sections and mounted adjacent the top of the rotor. The bracket includes a support ring for direct mounting on the axle and an integral yoke above the ring; one arm of the yoke limiting the pivoting movement of the caliper unit in one direction by a fixed stop for forward movement/normal braking of the trailer, and the other arm supporting an actuators stop for the relief valve engaged by pivoting in the opposite direction. A spring constantly urges the caliper unit toward the fixed stop.

    摘要: A master cylinder assembly and a motor vehicle power assist actuator utilizing the master cylinder assembly. In one form of the invention, a clutch actuator is provided in which the clutch may be actuated in the usual manner by depression of the clutch pedal to move the piston in the master cylinder assembly under the urging of the push rod or, in a power mode of the actuator, movement of the gear shift lever of the vehicle is sensed by a logic module whereupon the electric motor of the master cylinder assembly is energized in a sense to move the ball screw to apply a power assist force to the annular outer periphery of the rear end of the piston and thereby effect disengagement of the clutch. In another embodiment of the invention, the signal to the logic module to enable energization of the motor is generated by a switch connected to the clutch pedal so that the force for disengaging the clutch includes a manual force applied by the push rod and a power force applied by a ball screw. In a further embodiment of the invention, the master cylinder assembly is utilized in a power assist brake actuator wherein a proportional potentiometer senses the pivotal movement of the brake pedal and provides a power assist, via the logic module, to the ball screw that is proportional to the extent of pivotal movement of the brake pedal.
