摘要： A laminated contact assembly is formed from a number of individual contact assemblies. Each individual contact assembly includes a contact arm portion, which carries a movable main or arcing contact and a stationary conductor portion. A flexible shunt is used to connect the contact arm portion to the stationary conductor portion. Intermediate individual contact assemblies are provided with T-shaped slots for receiving square-headed fasteners. These square-headed fasteners are captured by adjacent assemblies once the laminated contact assembly is complete. By providing such an arrangement, the need to drill and tap holes in the base of the laminated contact arm assembly is obviated. Since all of the individual contact arm assemblies are fastened together, the possibility of the square-headed fasteners disposed in T-shaped slots in intermediate individual contact arm assemblies is greatly reduced. The flexible shunt is wound from a continuous strip of an electrical conductor and formed into a V-shaped member having extending leg portions which generate magnetic repulsion forces during overcurrent conditions. By utilizing a form wound shunt the cost of the contact arm assembly can be greatly reduced.

摘要： A switch assembly includes an insulator base with two stationary contacts mounted on that base. A molded insulated tower and insulated post are unitary with the base and form a guide means and anchor means for a movable contact blade which has two movable contacts to engage the two stationary contacts. The tower has a unitary cap with a surface facing the base and a raised fulcrum on this facing surface. An actuator lever pivots on this raised fulcrum and moves the movable contact blade toward engagement of the pairs of contacts and establishes an over-travel means for the actuator lever after the contacts are in engagement.

摘要： An appliance switch has a one-piece housing defining separate cavities for the rocker/actuator and for the switch contact elements. An inner wall of the housing is integrally formed for this purpose, and defines a boss for slidably receiving a plunger that engages the rocker/actuator. The contact elements are identically shaped, each having an L-shape configuration with a resilient leg engageable with the plunger, and with a plunger hole that receives the plunger in the fixed contact element. A cover closes the cavity for the fixed and movable contact elements and also serves to hold them in place.

摘要： A plunger operated switch having a normally closed pair of contacts and a normally open pair of contacts, the normally closed pair of contacts including a movable contact carried on the free end of a first cantilevered resilient leaf member biased to separate the contacts, the normally open pair of contacts including a movable contact carried on the free end of a second cantilevered resilient leaf member biased to bring the contacts together. An actuator projection on the plunger bears against the first leaf member at a location substantially aligned with the contact thereon, and a further actuator on the plunger bears against the free end of the second resilient leaf member. The plunger is biased to urge the normally closed pair of contacts closed and the normally open pair of contacts open by a spring which is sufficiently strong to overcome the biases of the resilient leaf members.

摘要： The invention relates to an electrical type contact switch assembly. The assembly includes an insulated contact carrier having a U-shaped portion with spaced apart walls. A slot for receiving a leaf spring extends transversely through the walls. Mutually facing depressions formed in the walls straddle the slot and have oppositely inclined surfaces. A leaf spring disposed in the slot has a resiliently hinged flap extending at an acute angle relative to the plane of the spring. The flap is in resilient biasing engagement with the inclined surfaces of the contact carrier. The flap is of trapezium shape and is an integral part of the spring.
