Abstract:
A control device and a method for controlling scanning speed of a scanner. The control device includes a decision device and a driving device. The decision device further includes an image buffer, an up-down counter and a comparator. The decision device receives the input image data and utilizes the up-down counter to compute data access volume inside the image buffer. The comparator decides whether to increase or decrease the scanning speed according to the data access volume and also outputs decision data to the driving device.

Abstract:
A scanning controller, a scanning apparatus and a method for performing the scanning controller are disclosed herein. The scanning controller includes an image data processing unit, a memory control unit, a dummy line control unit, a buffer condition control unit, a motor condition control unit, a motor controlling unit and a relation control unit. Based on at least one of several predetermined contrastive relationships among each stored data amount with regard to an image buffer and its corresponding motor move timing, the relation control unit controls generation of a motor move timing from the motor controlling unit to drive a motor with variance of a scanned data generation rate and simultaneously enable determination of the dummy line control unit on which part of scanned image data should be skipped by catching of the image data processing unit.

Abstract:
A printing system in which a DSC and a PD printer are directly connected to each other via a general interface, image data is transmitted from the DSC to the PD printer, and the data is printed, wherein the number of offset bytes and a data amount of the image data are designated from a print controller to a storage controller to specify partial image data, the storage controller reads the partial image data from the storage device of the DSC based on the specification, the partial image data is supplied to a print controller of the PD printer, and printing is performed.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes: an image reading device for reading an image to generate image data; a memory capable of writing and reading data in parallel, for storing the generated image data; an image forming device driven by a scan-writing clock having a frequency different from that of a reading clock of the image reading device for reading the image data stored in the memory, thereby to form the image; and a timing control device for shifting a timing for writing the image data in the memory from the image reading device and a timing for the image forming device to read the image data from the memory, and for controlling the image forming device to continuously read the image data in a predetermined quantity from the memory. The image reading device writes the image data in the memory at a unit of data in the predetermined quantity.
Abstract:
A technique for making multiple copies that includes the steps of scanning a scan region that contains the image to be copied to produce an array of scan region pixel data that contains pixel data for the entire scan region; printing an image based on the array of scan region pixel data; processing the scan region pixel data to determine a subregion of the scan region that contains printable, non-background information; scanning the subregion of the scan region and providing to a print buffer print data only for the subregion of the scan region that contains printable, non-background information; and printing an image based on the subregion print data.
Abstract:
In an image forming apparatus for reading a document image and forming the document image on a paper, document image data are divided into a plurality of blocks and the document image data are compressed in the unit of block to be stored in a first memory device. The data read from the first memory device are expanded in the unit of block to be stored in a second memory device. Compression time and expansion time are estimated and image output start time for a printer is set based on the compression and expansion times before expansion of all the blocks is completed. In a different way, the start time is set to read data from a second memory device by a printer for printing, after estimation based on expansion time on data not yet expanded by an expansion device. In a still different way, predetermined form data such as page number are superposed with image data. The form data is drawn first in a page memory device and expanded image data are superposed next in the page memory device. Print is started by taking drawing time of the form data into account.
Abstract:
A facsimile apparatus having a printer function for local or remote printing out of image data from a computer, and a scanner device which reads an original document and produces corresponding image data for transmission and remote printing. A printer control device controls a connection with the computer to receive image data from the computer. Image device from the printer control device is processed using the same processing mechanisms as image data from the scanner device, and applied to a communication device capable of sending the image data in the form of facsimile data to a destination facsimile apparatus. The processing mechanisms include a memory which stores the image data from either the scanner device or the printer control device, and outputs the stored image data to the communication device for transmission as the facsimile data.
