Abstract:
A portable tool comprising a spindle defining a longitudinal axis, a spring extending around the spindle in the axial direction for biasing a component of the tool, a stop ring extending around the spindle and against which the spring bears. The spindle includes a plurality of circumferentially spaced radially outward projections and the stop ring includes on its internal surface a corresponding plurality of recesses extending from the bearing face of the stop ring to an opposite face, and a corresponding plurality of pockets open at the opposite face. During assembly, the stop ring is fitted over the spindle or sleeve by the passing the recesses over the projections and then rotating the stop ring to align the pockets with projections. The stop ring is axially fixed on the spindle by the pockets engaging the projections under the biasing force from the spring.

Abstract:
An improved process for producing a unit, such as a small plastic housing, from two plastic parts in which a first plastic part is produced in a molding production step and has at least one first connection recess, in which a second plastic part is produced in a molding production step and has at least one second connection recess assigned to the first connection recess. The process is characterized by the two plastic parts being joined together such that the first connection recess and second connection recess are located next to one another and a connector pin is inserted into the two connection recesses thus resulting in a tightly joined unit of the two plastic parts.
Abstract:
A shank adapter for a rock drill, which is used to connect one end of a drill string to a rock drill, has a chuck end (10) made from one piece of material and an opposite, threaded end (16) made from another, different, material. The chuck end and the threaded end are permanently joined to one another in one stage of manufacturing.
Abstract:
A second pinion is rotatably supported around an intermediate shaft and slidable in an axial direction of the intermediate shaft. A pinion sleeve is fixed to the intermediate shaft. A first clutch mechanism selectively engages and disengages the second pinion with and from the pinion sleeve to selectively transmit and interrupt a rotational force of a motor to a tool attached on a front end of a hammer drill. A sleeve is supported around the intermediate shaft so as not to be rotatable about the intermediate shaft but slidable in the axial direction of the intermediate shaft. A motion converting member is rotatably supported around the intermediate shaft. The motion converting member converts the rotational force of the motor into the percussion force. A second clutch mechanism selectively engages and disengages the motion converting member with and from the sleeve to selectively transmit and interrupt the percussion force to the tool.
Abstract:
A pneumatic scraping tool includes a pneumatic hammer assembly including a cylinder in which a piston reciprocates for repeated impact against an anvil or blade holder which is rotatably received within an end of the cylinder and carries a scraping blade. The anvil has an annular flange which stops its insertion in the cylinder, and is retained in place by a nut threadedly engaged with the cylinder and having an end wall spaced from the cylinder end a distance slightly greater than the flange thickness to permit reciprocation of the anvil. Exhaust air passes along a groove in the outer surface of the cylinder to an annular chamber in the nut and thence through four exhaust ports exiting at the end wall of the nut. A plug portion of the anvil projects through a central opening in the nut end wall and is received into a socket in a blade housing. Blade fingers project laterally into the socket. Alternating side grooves and flats on the plug portion allow the blade assembly to be rotated roughly one-quarter turn between a latched condition and a release condition in which the plug portion can be inserted into and removed from the socket. A spring-biased detent ball in the cylinder engages a square inner end of the anvil to form a ratchet, accommodating rotation of the anvil in only one direction.
Abstract:
An attachment member (31) includes a tubular metallic shank (2) with an axial through-bore (3) and a slot (8) formed in the jacket of the shank (2) and extending along the entire length of the shank (2), and load application means (14) at the trailing, in the setting direction, end portion (13) of the shank (2). At an opposite, leading end (6) of the shank (2), cutters (7) are provided. The outer diameter of the shank (2) diminishes from the trailing end (4) toward the cutter carrying leading end (6). The shank (2) is anchored in a constructional component by reduction of its outer diameter over a substantial portion of its longitudinal extent.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an antivibration device between a motor unit 2 and a handle unit 9 of a portable handheld motor-driven chain saw 1. The antivibration device includes a sleeve-shaped elastic base body 6 having one of its ends 36 in a receptacle 20 of the motor unit 2 and the other end 46 in a receptacle 90 of the handle unit 9. The ends (36, 46) of the base body are fixed in the receptacles (20, 90) by axially engaging plugs (31, 41) in the end sections (30, 40). The guiding characteristics of the motor-driven chain saw are not affected by base bodies which become damaged or soft. This is so because at least one of the stops 31 has a coupling member 50 which bridges an axial spacing (z) between the plugs (31, 41) and projects into the other plug 41 and is latched so that it cannot be axially separated therefrom. A mechanical connection remains between the handle unit and the motor unit when the base body tears off.
