Abstract:
Part of the space occupied by a conveying device (guides) for conveying sheets and part of the space occupied upon movement of a post-processing device (stapler) for achieving a post-process over the sheets on the post-processing tray (post-processing sheet stacking table) are adapted to share the same space.
Abstract:
An improved singulation mechanism is provided for flat articles having significant variations in size, thickness and weight, which mechanism utilizes at least two vacuum chambers positioned behind a moving perforated to feed the articles and selectively controls at least one of pressure and flow for at least one of the chambers to facilitate the feeding of heavier articles, while inhibiting bleed through doubles for lighter articles. A mechanism may be provided which provides a puff of air to at least one of the chambers at the end of the operation thereof to reduce the feeding of doubles and a bent fence may be suitably positioned to both facilitate feeding of shorter articles and to facilitate proper initial alignment of the articles.
Abstract:
A banknote store comprises a rotatable structure such as a drum which has a number of banknote storage regions arranged around its periphery. Each stores a stack of banknotes, the stacks growing inwardly as banknotes are added. The drum can be rotated to bring each storage region into proximity to means for delivering banknotes to and/or retrieving banknotes from the store.
Abstract:
A bill handling machine in which information of each of storing boxes installed therein is acquired and is reported to the operator includes a unit by which an amount of bills stored in each storing box set to the bill handling machine can be calculate by the storing box. The calculated amount of bills is compared with the number of bills beforehand inputted by the operator to thereby prevent an operation using a wrong number of bills.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit, a paper transport unit, and a control unit for supplying the image forming unit with image data for a plurality of pages so that the image forming unit forms images page by page on sheets transported by the paper transport unit, wherein, when the image data for each page includes data representative of blanks on a leading end side and on a tail end side of the page in a paper transport direction, the control unit deletes the data representative of the blank either on the leading end side or on the tail end side from the image data prior to supplying the image forming unit with the image data, and controls the paper transport unit so that a plurality of sheets are transported sequentially to the image formation unit in a multiple state in which one sheet partially overlaps with another in the paper transport direction by a length corresponding to the deleted data representative of the blank.
Abstract:
A device for alternate transport of sheet-shaped materials (1) has at least one frictional wheel (41, 42) as well as a housing (20, 21, 22), an actuating element (30), a drive (34) for the actuating element (30), a control (70) for the drive (34) and at least one driven transport element (50, 52), whereby at least one frictional wheel (41, 42) is mounted so that it can rotate at the end of a spring plate (10), whereby the spring plate (10) is mounted with respect to the housing (20, 21, 22) and the actuating element (30) in such a way that the spring plate (10) can be brought into a first active bending state and into a second passive bending state by means of the actuating element (30), whereby in the active bending state the at least one frictional wheel (41, 42) is in working connection with the transport element (50, 52) and in the passive bending state it is not.
Abstract:
A stream of flat articles is to include imbricated formations (26.1, 26.2, 26.3) of different article types (A, B, C) and differing numbers of articles of the different types. For establishing such a stream, a succession of supply devices (23.1, 23.2, 23.3) and a conveying surface are provided, the supply devices being equipped for preparing the imbricated formations (26.1, 26.2, 26.3) and for depositing whole preformed in imbricated formations on the conveying surface. A device for establishing the stream of flat articles includes a main conveyor (21) with the conveying surface (21) and for each supply device (23.1, 23.2, 23.3) an article source (25) and an intermediate conveyor (24), wherein the supply devices are controlled independently of each other and wherein the intermediate conveyor (24) and the article source (25) of one supply device may be driven independently of one another. The established stream is particularly suitable for being supplied to a stacking device, wherein the stacks produced in the stacking device are to contain printed products of different types.
Abstract:
A sheet stacking apparatus includes a sheet transport path for transporting a sheet; a discharge device disposed adjacent to the sheet transport path for sequentially transporting the sheet; a support tray disposed adjacent to the discharge device for temporarily supporting at least a part of the sheet transported by the discharge device; a stacker disposed at a downstream side of the support tray for stacking and storing the sheet transported from the support tray; a sheet pushing member disposed on the support tray for abutting against an edge of the sheet stacked on the support tray; and a drive device capable of rotating in forward and reverse directions. The drive device reciprocally moves the sheet pushing member between a retracted position at an upstream side of a stacking position where the sheet is stacked on the support tray and a transport position at a downstream side of the stacking position.
Abstract:
An automatic document feeder comprising a reversing device and a discharge device is disclosed. The reversing device and the discharge device are disposed such that the distance in the horizontal direction from an original document reading position in the automatic document feeder to the discharge device is longer than the distance in the horizontal direction from the original document reading position to the reversing device. This configuration allows the use of original documents whose length in the transport direction is short, and also shortens the transport path in the automatic document feeder as well as the amount of time needed to read an original document. Furthermore, this configuration increases the visibility of original documents discharged to the discharge tray by the discharge device because the discharge device is disposed relatively far away from the original document reading position.
Abstract:
A sheet transport apparatus includes a paper feed stacker for stacking a sheet; a first sheet control device for abutting against an edge of the sheet to control a width direction of the sheet and being movable in the width direction; a discharge device for discharging the sheet transported from the paper feed stacker and processed at a predetermined processing unit; a discharge stacker arranged to overlap the paper feed stacker for stacking the sheet; and a second sheet control device for controlling the width direction of the sheet by abutting against the side edge of the sheet discharged to the discharge stacker and being synchronized to a movement of the first sheet control device. The second sheet control device has a contact member rotatable between a position for controlling the sheet and a position where the sheet can be removed.
