    摘要: A method of fabricating an endodontic instrument by a machining operation is disclosed, and wherein a wire-like rod composed of a titanium alloy is advanced past a rotating grinding wheel at a relatively slow feed rate, with a sufficient depth of cut to remove all of the material on a given surface without over grinding a previously ground surface, and with the grinding wheel rotating at a relatively slow surface speed. The disclosed method is able to efficiently produce endodontic instruments having a high degree of flexibility, high resistance to torsional breakage, and with sharp cutting edges along the working length.

In order to prevent a flow-back of contaminated fluid with bacteria past the handpiece, a check valve is provided and comprises a check valve member disposed in a recess that extends radially inward from an outer surface of the coupling member and receives a flexible portion for closing a portion of the passage. The flexible portion is such that when the fluid is turned off, a suction in the fluid line will cause the flexible member to be pressed against the base of the recess and to prevent dripping from the exit nozzle.

    摘要: A personal extraction cart for supporting and restraining a person to facilitate movement of that person from an extrication point, wherein the cart includes a frame having a support surface. The support surface has upper and lower faces and a leg support portion and a back support portion defining a longitudinal length with oppositely disposed longitudinal edges. The leg and back support portions have a use position in which the upper faces of each of those portions are angled relative to each other along the longitudinal length of the frame. Wheels are preferably attached below the support surface for facilitating movement of the cart in its transportation position. In a preferred embodiment, a pair of oppositely disposed roll shields are provided below the upper face of the support surface for facilitating rolling of the cart between an upright transportation position where the wheels are engaged for movement, and a loading position where the cart is at least partially supported along one of the longitudinal edges. In loading position, the cart can be placed next to a person in generally prone position to facilitate loading of that person onto the support surface of the cart. Thereafter, the cart is rolled to its upright or transportation position for easy movement on its wheels.

The actuation arrangement includes a single actuation device, preferably a foot switch, that can be brought from an initial position into two working positions. By actuating the actuation device into one of the two working positions, function display elements provided with symbol identifiers and optical signal generators are driven in succession and are displayed on a visual field. A control arrangement processes the control signals from the signal generators, such that the optical signal generators of the function display elements are successively driven in accordance with the selected actuation direction until a desired function display element is reached. The appertaining operator elements are thereby switched in a preparatory manner. By subsequent actuation of the actuation device into the other working position, the appertaining operator element is activated.

The output and input of the transducer are connected, respectively, to the input and the output of the amplifier to form an oscillator, the frequency of which is determined by the resonant frequency of the transducer coupled to the scraper.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to a control valve device or arrangement for the simultaneous control of a plurality of fluid agents in a dental device. The control valve device arrangement comprises a valve member and a housing member composed of at least one part. Preferably, the housing member and the valve member are plate-like members which are arranged in a sandwich-like fashion with the valve member interposed between the two plates of the housing member and an arrangement is provided for shifting the valve member relative to the plates of the housing member. Each of the plates forming the valve member and the housing member are composed at least along the sliding surfaces of a ceramic material which is super-fine or smooth to form a sealing relationship therebetween. In the preferred embodiment, each of the three plate-like members are composed of the ceramic material and the valve member has through-passages which are arranged in the pattern which is the same as the pattern of ports provided in each of the plate members so that as the valve member can be shifted from a position with the through-passages out of alignment with the ports to block the flow of the agent to another position with the opening of the bores aligned with the pattern of openings or ports to permit flow of all of the agents simultaneously.
