    摘要: Separating apparatus comprises a rotor having a plurality of impeller blades rotatably mounted in a support housing. In the normal course of apparatus use, fluid flow occurs through opposed rotor open ends. Drive motor elements for rotating the rotor are mounted partly in the rotor and partly in the surrounding casing whereby the rotor may be driven without the necessity of a drive shaft attached to the rotor, and the opposed rotor ends remain unobstructed.In one rotor embodiment, fluid enters the opposed rotor ends and is discharged radially by the rotor blades. In a second embodiment the fluid enters one rotor end and is discharged along an axial path from the opposite end.

    摘要: Within a motor are two annular relatively fixed members, and a rotor mounted for rotation in closely fitting relation therewith between the outer annular member and the inner annular member. Both the inner and outer annular members are adapted to circulate air in each of opposite radial directions through the rotor, such circulation being through circumferentially spaced passageways in the rotor having outlet ports terminating in coacting passageways of the inner and outer annular members respectively to develop thrusts which effect rotation of the rotor. The passageways in the rotor communicate with coacting passageways in the inner and outer annular radial members so that when compressed air or other fluid exits from the rotor either radially outwardly or radially inwardly it will develop a thrust on the rotor. The passageways are serially connected so that the propelling fluid can be recirculated to produce successive thrusts on the rotor whenever the fluid exits from the rotor in either a radially outward direction or a radially inward direction. Furthermore, the passageways in the rotor are specially constructed so as to develop thrust on the rotor regardless of the angular position of the rotor and at ideal angles of thrust on the rotor.

    摘要: Method and apparatus for compressing dry or wet gases wherein the gas is compressed in a high speed rotor and discharged from said rotor in essentially compressed state to a secondary rotor where the kinetic energy of the fluid stream is converted to work; this work can be then used to decrease the work input to the primary rotor, resulting in an improved efficiency for the machine. Dry gases, such as air, may be compressed; also, wet gases or vapors, with a predetermined amount of liquid, such as gas-liquid mixture of propane, may be compressed and liquefied within the said primary rotor with the fluid being a liquid when reaching the secondary rotor and being discharged as a liquid from the machine. Further, liquid may be added to a dry gas in a predetermined amount, for example, water added to air, to absorb some heat during compression and thereby decrease primary rotor speed.

The pressurized fluid is supplied to within said turbine reaction rotor by employing a fluid nozzle arranged to discharge within said wheel in a direction that is approximately the same as the direction of rotation of said rotor wheel. The fluid is then discharged from the rotating rotor wheel nozzles backward away from the direction of rotation; said fluid then will generate a torque on said rotor wheel; said torque is then passed to the rotor shaft as the work output of the device.
