Abstract: Automatic slide door mechanism includes a slide rail secured to a slide door of a vehicle and which is extended in the fore-aft-direction of the vehicle, a slide rail guide holding the slide rail and held by an arm rotatably coupled to a main vehicle body, swing driving actuator for rotating the arm towards inside or outside of the vehicle, and slide driving actuator separate from the swing driving actuator, the slide driving actuator being held by the slide rail guide and adapted for actuating the slide door and the slide rail in the fore-and-aft direction of the vehicle. This assures smooth and prompt operation during movement of the slide door in the fore-and-aft direction of the vehicle and a sufficiently large torque during movement of the slide door towards inside or outside.

Abstract: A low friction tape adhesively connected to a movable vehicle door glass for isolating the door glass from a rubber glass run channel and providing a low friction surface for slidably engaging the glass run channel to prohibit glass chatter and noise created by the sliding engagement of the door glass within the glass run channel. The glass run channel is housed within a stationary frame portion of the vehicle door and is utilized to support and guide the door glass as well as seal the door glass to the vehicle door. Separate segments of the low friction tape are applied to the vertical edges and the periphery of the sides of the door glass to prohibit direct contact of the door glass and the glass run channel. Due to the curvature of the door glass, the low friction tape must be applied in several separate segments so that wrinkling of the low friction tape is avoided when applying the tape segments to the door glass. The opposite ends of each tape segment are tapered inward from the vertical edges of the door glass towards each other on both the front side and the back side of the door glass so that the ends of the tape segments do not peel back upon the door glass slidably engaging the glass run channel.

Abstract: A rail assembly for a sliding door or sliding window includes a plurality of rails having a recess at top portion of each to receive a ball of a guide block therein. A rail cover is provided with a pair of identical troughs on a top portion thereof and in parallel to each other to receive the guide block to extend therefrom. A plurality of paper rolls are provided each having an aperture at one end for attachment to the guide block, and a hole at a center portion to receive a coil spring therein to provide a restoring force to the paper roll. Abstract: A track system on which a sliding door may be hung includes a channel having a bottom wall and two substantially parallel side walls which extend upwardly from the bottom wall, at least two tube sections which lie coaxially on the bottom wall of the channel, and at least one spacer between adjacent tube sections. The tube sections each have a select outside diameter, and at least one hollow end with a select inside diameter. Each spacer includes a central cylindrical portion with an outside diameter equal to the select outside diameter of the tube sections, and two cylindrical insert portions which each have an outside diameter substantially equal to the inside diameter of the tube section hollow ends. Each cylindrical insert portion extends axially from one end of the central cylindrical portion into the hollow end of one of the tube sections to maintain the tube section in position on the channel bottom wall. The outside surfaces of the tube sections and central cylindrical portions together form a substantially smooth, continuous cylindrical surface over which a roller may rotate to allow its connected door to move back and forth. The track system is mounted with L-brackets which each include a horizontal leg which underlies the channel, and a vertical leg which is connected to the wall forming the doorway.

Abstract: The device of the present invention is used in combination with a building having a door opening and at least one slidable door with upper and lower edges and opposite front and back sides for restraining the door against forward and backward movement with respect to the door opening. The door is supported at its upper edge by a guide track so as to be laterally movable between an open position and a closed position. The device includes an elongated bar extending across the door opening and having opposite ends, end brackets for releasably securing the opposite ends of the bar to the sides of the door opening, and a plurality of rollers each of which are operatively connected to the elongated bar by a support bracket, and being rotatable about a vertical axis. The elongated bar, support brackets and rollers form an elongated channel for receiving the lower edge of the door and for preventing forward and rearward movement of the door with respect to the door opening. The space between the rollers and the elongated bar is adjustable such that the device can accommodate doors having varying thicknesses. A quick-release pin permits the bar, support brackets and rollers to be quickly and easily removed from the end brackets.
