Abstract:
A patterned vertical alignment (PVA) pixel electrode is disclosed. The PVA pixel electrode includes a first electrode and a second electrode. The first and second electrodes form a pre-tilt angle with respect to a periphery of the pixel. By disposing unequal lengths of indium-tin oxide (ITO) gaps at a periphery of the first and second electrodes, a distance between the first and second electrodes gradually becomes shortened from the center of the pixel outwards. The ITO gaps which are disposed at the periphery of a thin film transistor (TFT)-array substrate and/or a color filter (CF) are adjusted for eliminating a fringe field effect in the present invention, which a transmittance on the pixel regions is improved and an effect of image display quality is enhanced.
Abstract:
Methods and systems scheduling and negotiating air traffic within an airspace surrounding an airport and scheduled to land at the airport. An air traffic control (ATC) system is used to monitor the altitudes, speeds and lateral routes of aircraft as they enter the airspace. The ATC system generates a scheduled time-of-arrival (STA) for each aircraft at one or more meter fix points associated with the airport, the STA for each aircraft is stored, and data is received or inferred with the ATC system for at least a first of the aircraft, including a minimum fuel-cost speed and predicted trajectory parameters of the first aircraft based on current values of its existing trajectory parameters. Auxiliary data, including earliest and latest estimated time-of-arrival ETAmin and ETAmax at the meter fix point, are generated for the first aircraft using the predicted trajectory parameters. The ATC system determines whether the STA of the first aircraft is in or outside an ETA range bounded by its ETAmin and ETAmax. Instructions are transmitted to the first aircraft to ensure its arrival at the meter fix point at the STA or the ETAmin of the first aircraft, and the STA is updated for each aircraft stored in the queue.
Abstract:
Extracting and analyzing online discussions to identify prospects of a subject is provided. The method has steps including initializing queries related to the subject and a set of data sources utilizing subject information and one or more data source names, extracting the discussions from the set of data sources by employing the queries, extracting significant discussions from the extracted discussions by applying discussions quality methods, identifying websites corresponding to the significant discussions; extracting significant websites by applying websites quality methods to the identified websites, determining a website influence of each of the significant websites by determining their corresponding attributes, identifying a discussion influence of each of the significant discussions based on the website influence of each of the corresponding significant websites, and weighting the significant discussions and the significant websites utilizing the discussion influence and the website influence of each of the significant discussions and the significant websites, respectively.
Abstract:
A method of transmitting two packets to two different nodes may include encoding a first packet according to a first channel to obtain an encoded first packet and encoding a second packet according to a second channel different than the first channel to obtain an encoded second packet. The encoded first packet and the encoded second packet may be combined to obtain a combined encoded packet. The method may include mapping the combined encoded packet to symbols for transmission. The symbols may be transmitted to the two different nodes over the first channel and the second channel.
Abstract:
A method to predict equipment life is disclosed. The method includes making available a set of input parameters, and defining a model of a health of the equipment as a function of the set of input parameters. The method continues with receiving at least one signal representative of a respective one of an actual sensor output relating to an actual operation attribute margin of the equipment, predicting a remaining useful equipment life based upon a sequence of outputs of the model of the health of the equipment, and generating a signal corresponding to the remaining useful equipment life.
