Abstract: The invention relates to a process for obtaining an aqueous extract of lavender enriched with small RNAs of a maximum length of 150 nucleotides, with sugars, with phenolic compounds, with organic acids and devoid of DNA, obtained by the following process: the lavender aerial parts are brought into contact with water; phytic acid is added at a pH of between 10 and 11; the pH of the mixture obtained is then adjusted to a value of between 6 and 8, the mixture obtained is purified. The invention also relates to cosmetic compositions comprising such an extract and their cosmetic uses for protecting the skin from external aggression and oxidation, combating the signs of skin ageing, increasing photoprotection, lightening the skin, improving hydration, reinforcing the barrier function, soothing the skin or improving the biological mechanisms associated with skin repair during the night.

Abstract: This present disclosure provides a multi-ply radiation dosage indicator, which includes a first ply having two visible readable indicia thereon. The dual radiation sensitive zones are capable of changing opacity in response to exposure radiation. Each radiation sensitive zone can respond to an irradiation dose in tandem or independent of one another. Once the radiation sensitive zone exceeds the design exposure threshold, the visibility of the indicia is altered thereby providing an indication of irradiation exposure. The radiation sensitive zone may either be transparent or opaque and can change its opacity in response to exposure to radiation exceeding a predetermined threshold so as to change the visibility of the indicia.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method of treating non-keratinous fibers using a composition comprising an amide and/or alkyl ammonium carboxylate salt wherein the treating method improves the robust performance of the non-keratinous fibers and simultaneously maintains and/or improve the appearance or look such as color, shine, form, and shape of the fibers even after prolonged use. The method of protecting colored non-keratinous fibers from fading using the composition comprising an amide and/or alkyl ammonium carboxylate salt is also disclosed.

Abstract: The invention relates to polymers derived at least from one: (A) one N-vinyl amide unit, and (B) one hydroxyl-containing acrylate unit, and to polymers derived at least from: (A) N-vinyl-2-caprolactam, and (B) one non-acrylate unit having: (i) at least one hydroxyl group, and/or (ii) at least one functional group convertible to a hydroxyl group wherein at least one group is converted to hydroxyl functionality in the final polymer product. Such polymers may exhibit degradability, e.g., in seawater or soil environments. In preferred embodiments, these polymers and compositions thereof are used in oilfield applications, such as an inhibitor of gas hydrates and/or a kinetic inhibitor of gas hydrates. The polymer can assume alternating, block, and/or random configurations of the repeating units, with at least one ester group. The chemical structure subscripts m, and n may be any integer equal to or greater than 1.
