Abstract:
A composition comprising a cyclodextrin, a guanidine-based cationic compound, and sorbic acid is disclosed herein. Preservatives and methods related thereto, and experimental results suggesting certain advantages related to these compositions, preservatives, and methods are also presented herein.
Abstract:
A device for detecting an actuator assembly parking error when a disc drive is powered on includes a magnetic latch attached to the actuator assembly and a latch pin assembly electrically connected to a base plate in the disc drive, where the latch pin assembly is positioned to contact the magnetic latch only when the actuator's read/write head is positioned over a parking zone on the disc. A detection module is electrically connected to the magnetic latch and thus is able to detect whether or not the magnetic latch is contacting the latch pin assembly when the disc drive is powered on. A method for detecting an actuator assembly parking error includes powering on the disc drive, determining whether the magnetic latch has electrical contact with the latch pin assembly, and reporting a parking error if the magnetic latch does not have electrical contact with the latch pin assembly.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are methods of delivering drugs or therapeutically active agents to the back of the eye via topical administration of compositions comprising cyclodextrin derivatives. Compositions related thereto are also disclosed herein.
Abstract:
Compositions, and methods of using such compositions, useful for injection into the posterior segments of human or animal eyes are provided. Such compositions include corticosteroid component-containing particles present in a therapeutically effective amount, a viscosity inducing component, and an aqueous carrier component. The compositions have viscosities of at least about 10 cps or about 100 cps at a shear rate of 0.1/second. In a preferred embodiment, the viscosity is in the range of from about 140,000 cps to about 300,000 cps. The compositions advantageously suspend the particles for prolonged periods of time.
Abstract:
A construction piece covered at least partially with display loop fabric and having one or more double sided hook-surfaced tabs removably affixed to said fabric so as to permit the attachment of one construction piece to another.
Abstract:
A method for plasma etching a semiconductor film stack. The film stack includes at least one layer comprising silicon oxynitride. The method includes etching the silicon oxynitride-comprising layer using an etchant gas mixture comprising chlorine and at least one compound containing fluorine and carbon. The atomic ratio of fluorine to chlorine in the etchant gas ranges between about 3:1 and about 0.01:1; preferably, between about 0.5:1 and about 0.01:1; most preferably, between about 0.25:1 and about 0.1:1. The etchant gas forms a fluorine-comprising polymer or species which deposits on exposed surfaces adjacent to the silicon oxynitride-comprising layer in an amount sufficient to reduce the etch rate of an adjacent material (such as a photoresist) while permitting the etching of the silicon oxynitride-comprising layer.
Abstract:
A soft-closing device has a base, a cylinder, a slider and a resilient member. The base has a track channel and at least one guiding channel. The cylinder is mounted in the base and has a housing and an expansion rod. The slider is mounted slidably in the track channel, is connected pivotally to the expansion rod and has two holding arms, a positioning pin and a holding recess defined between the holding arms. The positioning pin is mounted slidably in the at least one guiding channel. The resilient member has two ends connected respectively with the base and the slider.
Abstract:
A bicycle hub of the present invention comprises two discs, an axial portion, and a connecting portion. The discs are formed with a through hole individually. The axial portion comprises a first end, a second end, and a middle section. The first and the second end of the axial portion penetrate the through hole of one of the discs individually. The connecting portion connects between two discs. The connecting portion defines at least an open portion so that at least a part of the middle section of the axial portion is not enclosed and can be seen. As such, the connecting portion of the present invention defines the open portion so that the connecting portion incompletely encloses the middle section of the axial portion. Whereby the connecting portion not only saves material, but reduces the weight of the bicycle hub.
Abstract:
A composition comprising a therapeutically effective amount of cyclosporin A, a blend of oils having a specific gravity of from 0.90 to 1.07, and a surfactant is disclosed herein.
