Abstract: A chiller system includes a compressor, a condenser and an evaporator in fluid communication. A motor drives the compressor. A variable speed drive powers the motor. An oil heater and pump system circulate heated lubricating oil in the compressor. A control panel is arranged to determine whether an input parameter is greater than or equal to a threshold parameter; deactivate the VSD in response to sensing that the input parameter is less than the threshold parameter; determine at least one chiller capacity control parameter at a point when the VSD is deactivated, and maintain the at least one chiller capacity control parameter while the VSD is deactivated; determine that the input parameter has been restored; determine a motor rotation and motor rotational speed; and in response to determining that the input parameter is restored and the motor is rotating in a forward direction, reactivate the VSD.

Abstract: A controller for HVAC equipment stores a cascaded model that includes a disturbance model configured to predict a heat disturbance affecting the building zone as a function of one or more exogenous parameters and a physics model configured to predict a temperature of the building zone as a function of the heat disturbance and an amount of heating or cooling provided to the building zone by HVAC equipment. The processing circuit is configured to execute a combined training procedure to determine parameters of the disturbance model and parameters of the physics model, generate control signals for the HVAC equipment using the disturbance model to predict the heat disturbance and applying the heat disturbance as an input to the physics model, and operate the HVAC equipment to provide the heating or cooling to the building zone in accordance with the control signals.

The timeseries service is configured to identify a feedback control workflow that uses the feedback timeseries as an input and defines one or more processing operations to be applied to the feedback samples of the feedback timeseries, perform the one or more processing operations defined by the feedback control workflow to generate a control signal timeseries including a set of control signal samples, and provide a control signal including at least one of the control signal samples or the control signal timeseries as an output to controllable building equipment of the building management system that operate using the control signal as an input.

Abstract: A furnace for a heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system includes a heat exchanger tube including a tube inlet and a tube outlet, such that the heat exchanger tube is configured to receive combustion products via the tube inlet, circulate the combustion products through the heat exchanger tube, and discharge the combustion products via the tube outlet. Additionally, the furnace includes a collector box coupled to the heat exchanger tube and having a cavity configured to receive the combustion products via the tube outlet. The furnace includes a diverter plate disposed within the cavity, where the diverter plate overlaps the tube outlet to disperse the combustion products received via the tube outlet throughout the collector box.

Abstract: An environmental control system for a building including building equipment operable to affect a variable state or condition of the building. The system includes a controller including a processing circuit. The processing circuit can obtain training data relating to operation of the building equipment and can perform a system identification process to identify parameters of a system model using the training data. The processing circuit can augment the system model with a disturbance model and estimate values of a historical heat disturbance in the training data based on the augmented system model. The processing circuit can train one or more heat disturbance models based on the training data and the estimated values. The processing circuit can predict a heat disturbance using the augmented system model along with the one or more heat disturbance models and can control the building equipment based on the predicted heat disturbance.

Abstract: An eductor system for a chiller assembly is provided. The system includes a first and a second eductor. The first eductor includes a first suction inlet that receives a first oil and refrigerant mixture from a plenum of a compressor, a first motive inlet that receives a first motive fluid from an oil sump, and a first outlet that discharges a first outlet mixture to the oil sump. The first outlet mixture includes both the first oil and refrigerant mixture and the first motive fluid. The second eductor includes a second suction inlet that receives a second oil and refrigerant mixture from an evaporator, a second motive inlet that receives a second motive fluid from a condenser, and a second outlet that discharges a second outlet mixture to the plenum of the compressor. The second outlet mixture includes both the second oil and refrigerant mixture and the second motive fluid.
