Abstract: Embodiments of a system and method for processing and recognizing non-contact types of human input to prevent contamination are generally described herein. In example embodiments, human input is captured, recognized, and used to provide active input for control or data entry into a user interface. The human input may be provided in variety of forms detectable by recognition techniques such as speech recognition, gesture recognition, identification recognition, and facial recognition. In one example, the human input recognition techniques are used in connection with a device cleaning workflow used to obtain data and human input during cleaning procedures while minimizing cross-contamination between the contaminated device or person and other objects or persons. In another example, the human input recognition techniques are used in connection with a device tracking workflow used to obtain data and human input while tracking interactions with and locations of the contaminated or uncontaminated device.

Abstract: A decontamination system, method, and sterilant kit for a device, such as a lumen device, is depicted. The decontamination system, in some embodiments, includes a device container, a wicking pad, and a sterilant fluid delivery device. The device container, such as a terminal package or a decontamination chamber, defines a device receiving area. The wicking pad is in fluid communication with the device receiving area. The sterilant fluid delivery device is in fluid communication with the wicking pad. The sterilant fluid delivery device is configured to wet the wicking pad with sterilant fluid. The wicking pad is configured to evaporate sterilant fluid into the device receiving area.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a system for decontaminating a device having a lumen. The system includes a pressure vessel defining an enclosed space having a fixed volume, and the pressure vessel has an opening. The system includes a valve positioned at the opening of the pressure vessel which is controllable between an open first position and a closed second position. The system includes a container configured to receive a device having a lumen, the container defining a wall having a section permeable to vaporized decontaminating substance. The enclosed space of the pressure vessel is configured to be in fluid communication with the lumen of the device and the valve configured to control a flow between the lumen and the enclosed space.

Abstract: Systems and methods for using solid high-level disinfection chemistries to producing disinfectant solutions. In an embodiment, an apparatus comprises: a first container and a second container. The first container is configured to receive water, sodium percarbonate and tetraacetylethylenediamine. The water, the sodium percarbonate, the tetraacetylethylenediamine react within the first container to produce a mixture comprising peroxyacetic acid. The second container is in fluid communication with the first container, wherein the second container is configured to receive an acid and the mixture. The mixture and the acid mix in the second container to produce a disinfectant solution having a pH between 5.0 and 7.0.

Abstract: The invention provides for a low pH disinfectant composition that includes a relatively low amount of alcohol. Also provided is an article of manufacture that includes a textile and the composition, as well as methods of using the composition and article of manufacture (e.g., for reducing the number of microbes located upon a substrate, for killing or inhibiting a broad spectrum of microorganisms, for killing or inhibiting spore forming bacteria, and/or for disinfecting a substrate). The composition can optionally include a stable residual antimicrobial compound, thereby providing a combination of high-level disinfection and long-lasting residual effect.
