THERMOPLASTIC COMPOSTITIONS CONSISTING OF POLYOLEFINES VERY FINELY DISPERSED IN POLYAMIDES ARE MADE BY DISPERSING THE OLEFINE IN A DIAMINE-DICARBOXYLIC ACID SALT SOLUTION, AND THEN SIMULTANEOUSLY POLYMERIZING THE OLEFINE AND POLYCONDENSING FOR DIAMINE ADN DICARBOXYLIC ACID BY HEATING UNDER PRESSURE.

The invention discloses a spinneret for producing a trilobal filament, and filaments produced using such spinneret. The shape of each orifice of the spinneret can be considered as being produced by a circular aperture, diameter D into which project at 120* intervals, three identical triangular portions, sides of the triangles being tangent to one or more coaxial circles having a diameter between one-sixth and one-third of D, the angle at the apex of each triangle being between 60* and 100*.

A loose bundle of fibers is passed through a new nozzle, characterized by a conduit provided with at least two slots and means for directing a fluid, for instance air, tangentially to the conduit for the fibers. Part of the fibers becomes transversely arranged over the remainder of the fibers giving a strong wound-up unit, which cannot be spread apart. Fixed points at regular intervals are obtained.

CELLULOSE-2 1/2-ACETATE TEXTILE OR KNITTED FABRICS ARE MADE BY WETTING THE RAW MATERIALS; TREATING THEM AT ROOM TEMPERATURE AT A BATH RATIO OF BETWEEN 1:3 TO 1:10 IN A LYE SOLUTION WITH SLOWLY RINSING ALKALI CONENT WHICH IS FIRST RAISED UP TO ONLY 2% OF THE MATERIAL WEIGHT INTRODUCED. THE LYE SOLUTION IS THEN HEATED TO 80-100*C.; TREATING THE PRODUCT AGAIN IN A LYE SOLUTION WITH THE ALKALI CONTENT BEING SLOWLY INCREASED TO 4-5% OF THE INTRODUCED RAW MATERIAL WEIGHT, SO THAT THE SAPONIFICATION IS ONLY ON THE SURFACE.
