In a method for producing a twisted yarn by an integrated spinning and twisting process, individual spun yarns are spun from loose fiber material in at least two spinning devices. The spun yarns are combined and guided in a first direction and subjected to a common first twisting to form a once twisted yarn. The resulting yarn is then fed through a centering point to a winding device. The loose fiber material is fed into the annular chamber, that is coaxial to the yarn balloon and in which the yarn balloon freely rotates, and is guided substantially radially through the yarn balloon such that the yarn of the yarn balloon directly passes through the loose fiber material. The loose fiber material is then conveyed from the annular chamber substantially radially inwardly into the spinning devices by a pressure gradient.

Apparatus for stranding elongated elements into a bundle of reversely twisted strand sections includes a rotating accumulator drum, a rotating winding flyer at the first end of the drum, and a rotating unwinding flyer at the second end of the drum. A guide plate and collector die guide the elements into the winding flyer, and a twist blocking device guides the twisted strands out of the unwinding flyer. A first twist of the bundle is produced by the winding flyer in a zone between collector die the winding flyer. A second reverse twist is produced by the unwinding flyer in the zone between the unwinding flyer and the twist blocking device. The winding flyer, the drum and the unwinding flyer rotate around a common axis, in the same direction, but at different speeds which change in alternating winding phases. The speed of the flyers and the drum are different from each other, but constant within the particular winding phase. The speeds of the flyers and drums are selected so that the strands are drawn through the apparatus at a predetermined speed and so that twisting in reverse direction occurs in alternating sections as the strands are drawn through the apparatus. The speed of rotation of the flyers and drums also determines the tightness of the twist. Durations of the periodically changing speeds are preferably selected such that the length of the bundle stranded in one direction is equal to the length stranded in the opposite direction.

A device for adjusting capsule thread brakes in twisting machines having inside the twisting spindle a capsule thread brake has a brake ring disposed on a brake ring support which may be moved against a spring force. On the brake ring support a ring piston is arranged, which is guided in a ring cylinder connected to a compressed air supply line. A first toothed segment with downwardly directed teeth is arranged on the periphery of the brake ring support, and a second toothed segment with upwardly directed teeth is located opposite the first toothed segment. A support stop engages the slots formed between the teeth of the toothed segments during displacement of the brake ring support. The tooth flanks of the two toothed segments are provided with inclined surfaces in such a way that an upward and downward movement of the brake ring support results in a rotation of the brake ring support by predetermined angle values and an adjustment of the capsule thread brake as a consequence of the support stop abutting against slot bottoms at different axial heights. Several capsule thread brakes may be adjusted simultaneously by a central control device with compressed air pulses supplied by a common compressed air supply line.
