Abstract: A device and a process for performing high temporal- and spatial-resolution MR imaging of the anatomy of a patient during intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) to directly measure and control the highly conformal ionizing radiation dose delivered to the patient for the treatment of diseases caused by proliferative tissue disorders. This invention combines the technologies of open MRI, multileaf-collimator or compensating filter-based IMRT delivery, and cobalt teletherapy into a single co-registered and gantry mounted system.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method comprising transporting a conduit and a template through a guide tube; the template being disposed on an outer surface of the conduit between the conduit and the guide tube; and transferring a texture from the template to the conduit as the conduit and the template are transported through the guide tube. Disclosed herein too is an apparatus comprising a guide tube; the guide tube being operative to facilitate a transfer of a pattern from a template to a conduit; a first feed spool and a first take-up spool for feeding the conduit through the guide tube and for taking up the conduit after it has travelled through the guide tube respectively; and a second feed spool and a second take-up spool for feeding the template through the guide tube and for taking up the template after it has travelled through the guide tube respectively.

Abstract: Various examples are provided related to electrochemical phosphate/pH (P/pH) sensors, systems and related methods. In one example, a P/pH sensor includes a substrate and collocated phosphate (P) electrode and pH electrode formed on a surface of the substrate. The P electrode includes a cobalt (Co) sensing window disposed on a first copper (Cu) sensor pad; and the pH electrode includes an antimony (Sb) sensing window disposed on a second Cu sensor pad. The P/pH sensor can include a reference electrode, and may also include other sensor electrodes such as, e.g., a nitrate electrode.

Abstract: Various embodiments detect and manage target vegetation in vegetation areas, including crop beds, between crop beds, and turfgrasses. In one embodiment, a machine learning model is trained to detect target vegetation in captured images. An information processing system is programmed utilizing the machine learning model. One or more images of a particular area are captured, and target vegetation is detected within the one or more images. A position of the detected target vegetation is determined within the one or more images. An applicator disposed on an agrochemical applicator system that is mapped to the position of the detected target vegetation within the one or more images is determined. The applicator is activated based on a current speed of a vehicle coupled to the agrochemical applicator system, and further based on configuration data associated with the applicator. Activating the applicator selectively applies an agrochemical to the detected target vegetation.

Abstract: X-ray backscatter imaging (XBI) methods and systems are provided that enable depth-sensitive information to be obtained from images acquired during a single scan from a single side of an object being imaged. The depth-sensitive information is used in combination with other image information acquired during the scan to produce high-resolution 2-D or 3-D images, where at least one of the dimensions of the 2-D or 3-D image corresponds to depth in the object.

Abstract: Various examples are provided related to penetrating radar based upon precursors. In one example, a method includes transmitting a radio frequency (RF) signal; and receiving a return signal associated with the RF signal, where the return signal is a precursor having no exponential decay. The precursor can be one of a sequence of precursors, which can be used to improve resolution of the system. The RF signal can be a short pulse generated by an RF front end, without automatic level control. The return signal can be processed without filtering.
