    摘要: A method and apparatus blindly detects a received signal's modulation type characterizing an impairment component of the received signal for each postulated modulation type by determining spatial correlations between In-phase and Quadrature components of the received signal. The blind detection circuit then detects the modulation type based on the characterized impairment component. A metric generator generates a postulation metric for each postulated modulation type based on the characterized impairment component. After evaluating the postulation metrics, an evaluation circuit identifies the postulated modulation type having the best postulation metric as the modulation type of the received signal. According to an exemplary embodiment, the blind detection circuit determines a whitened noise estimate for each postulated modulation type and generates the postulation metrics based on the whitened noise estimate to reduce interference effects in the postulation metrics.

Accordingly, the base stations implement a gaming-based algorithm to mitigate MUI for the multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) uplink signals received from their associated terminals. More particularly, each base station functions as a player in a game, in which the allowed gaming action is the selection of the precoding matrix to be used for MIMO uplink transmissions to the base station from an associated terminal.

For example, with the combined packet retransmission and corresponding soft value receiver processing as taught herein, a given receiver can use a given combined packet to correct bit errors in all (failed) packets comprising the combined packet as long as the bit errors in a failed packet do not overlap (or align) with bit errors in the other failed packets comprising the combined packet.

A method for mitigating effects of co-sequence interference in channel estimation comprises a joint detection and estimation procedure performed under constrictions assuming presence of co-sequence interference.

The transmission further comprises repeating the block of data symbols, such that the burst to be transmitted comprises NMS number of equal blocks of data symbols, rotating the NMS number of blocks of data symbols according to a mobile-station-specific rotation, and transmitting the rotated blocks of data symbols in a burst in the time slot.

    摘要: A system and method to perform Full Duplex (FD) Space Division Duplex (SDD) communication using a Self-Interference Cancelling (SIC) precoder that applies different antenna phase shifts and amplitude scales to the transmitted signals to force them to be in the null space of the selected receive antennas. Thus, a wireless communication unit can place nulls at each of its receive antennas digitally at baseband for one or more frequency bands. The SIC precoder may be computed based on the self-interference channel from the transmit chain(s) to the receive chain(s). Different SIC precoders may be adaptively selected and stored digitally for different frequency bands. Subsequent single or multi-user precoder can be applied in concatenation with the SIC precoder to transmit signals to one or more users while receiving signals from one or more users simultaneously over the same frequency band.
