摘要: A system modeling facilitating method and apparatus, wherein, entities and interactions among the entities are introduced gradually starting from critical entities in a system to form an abstract view of the entities. An associated sub-module is built for at least one of the entities and interfaces to other entities are formed for the sub-module. Representations of behaviors and logical relations among the behaviors, as well as links between its interfaces and representations of behaviors are built. When an entity is extended to be a sub-module, other entities appear in abstract form, forming a local view of sub-module together with the other entities shown in abstract form. A global view can be formed by combining the sub-modules depicted in the local view based on the interaction described in the abstract view.

摘要: A system and methods for efficiently performing media writing functions is disclosed. The system and methods include: detecting media movement with respect to a base and heads during reading and writing, and moving the heads in response; using an interferometer, such as a dual beam differential interferometer, to dynamically monitor disk position and address perceived errors; and minimizing repeatable and non repeatable runout error by writing data, such as servo bursts, in multiple revolutions to average adverse runout conditions. The present system has the ability to use an interferometer to enhance media certification and perform on line, in situ monitoring of the media, and includes shrouding, head mounting, disk biasing, and related mechanical aspects beneficial to media writing.

摘要: In one embodiment, a method determines a plurality of categories for requests for a shared resource being shared by a plurality of entities. A request for the resource is received from an entity in the plurality of entities. The method determines a category in the plurality of categories for the received request. If the received request is determined to be in a first category, the method dispatches the received request to a first arbitration scheme configured to determine an arbitration decision in a first time cycle. If the received request is determined to be in a second category, the method dispatches the received request to a second arbitration scheme configured to determine an arbitration decision in a second time cycle of a different length from the first time cycle.
