摘要: This invention provides, in a novel liquid discharge method utilizing a movable member, a configuration for detecting presence or absence of liquid in the liquid path or discharge state of the liquid. In an embodiment of this invention, the element substrate of the liquid discharge head is rendered electrically conductive and a partition wall for separating a liquid path for the liquid to be discharged and a liquid path for generating energy for liquid discharge upon heating is also rendered electrically conductive, and a detecting pulse is applied to the partition wall to detect the difference in potential or the variation in electrostatic capacitance between the element substrate and the partition wall, whereby the presence or absence of liquid in the small liquid path is detected. Also in another embodiment, the electrostatic capacitance between a fixed electrode provided in a fixed position of the liquid discharge head and a movable electrode provided on the movable member is detected, and the discharge state of the liquid is judged according to the function state of the movable member.

摘要: An apparatus uses a liquid ejection head including a first liquid passage communicating with an ejection port, a second liquid passage separated from the first liquid passage by a separation wall, and a movable member formed as a part of the separation wall. In the second liquid passage, a thermal energy generation device is arranged at a position opposing to the movable member. The movable member has a free end portion and a fulcrum. Recovery of the first and second liquid passages is performed by suction and/or pressurization. Upon recovery by discharging the liquid in respective liquid passage having higher flow resistance, the pressurizing force and/or the suction force for the liquid passage having higher resistance is set to be greater that the pressurizing force and/or the suction force for the other liquid passage having lower flow resistance.

摘要: A liquid discharge method is designed for a liquid jet head provided with first discharge openings, a first liquid flow path conductively connected with each of the first discharge openings, first energy generating devices for generating energy for the discharge of droplets from the first discharge openings, second discharge openings, a second liquid flow path conductively connected with each of the second discharge openings, and second energy generating devices for generating energy for the discharge of droplets from the second discharge openings. Then, preceding the discharge of the first droplet from the discharge opening at a first discharge speed v.sub.1, the second droplet is discharged from the second discharge opening at a second discharge speed v.sub.2 smaller than the first discharge speed, and before each of the liquid droplets being impacted on an object, the first liquid droplet and the second liquid droplet are allowed to collide with each other to be combined. In this way, it becomes possible to allow two droplets to be in contact or to collide with each other reliably to be mixed between the liquid jet head and the object within a range that does not render any hinderance practically even if discharge speeds may fluctuate, hence obtaining precise images in higher quality.

摘要: A liquid discharge head comprises liquid flow paths communicated with liquid discharge port for discharging liquid, bubble generating energy means for creating bubbles in order to discharge the liquid from the liquid discharge port, and movable members facing bubble generating areas for the creation of the bubbles, having free ends on the discharge port side to guide the bubbles to the discharge port side. For this liquid discharge head, the movable members and members capable of presenting electrically conductive relations with the movable members are arranged to satisfy the structural relations of liquid contact surface which do not allow electrolytic corrosion to occur. In this way, almost no deterioration of the members may take place due to electrolytic corrosion caused by liquid to be used and the liquid supply source as well, hence implementing the enhancement of durability of the movable members and the performance of the stabilized discharges of liquid for a long time as well.
