摘要: A digital camera includes an image pick-up element which receives light reflected from an object and generates image data of the object, and a light-receiving element which receives light reflected form the object and outputs light-quantity data for the object. The light-receiving element differs from the image pick-up element. In the sequence photograph mode, the exposure amount of the image pick-up element is controlled based on the light-quantity data output from the light-receiving element. In the other modes, the exposure amount of the image pick-up element is controlled based on the image data generated by the image pick-up element itself.

摘要: A wireless communication circuit in accordance with the present invention, is the wireless communication circuit having an amplifier for amplifying a signal, includes an amplification route in which the signal passes through the amplifier; a bypass route for bypassing the amplifier; and a route-selector for selecting one of the amplification route and the bypass route. This arrangement prevents an amplification of a signal, being transmitted or being received, when a communication counterpart is in a close distance, thereby reducing an unnecessary power consumption.

摘要: On a screen G1 of a liquid crystal display, a digital camera displays an AF cursor for use as a focusing point. Thus, a shooter shifts the AF cursor to the portion of a subject to be focused, so as to carry out the setting. Here, when the subject is zoomed up to an enlarged screen G2 through an optical zooming operation, the AF cursor is displayed on the enlarged screen G2, following the subject. Moreover, in the case when the subject is electronically zoomed up to an enlarged screen G3, the AF cursor is also displayed on the enlarged screen G3, following the subject. Thus, even when a zooming process is carried out, it is not necessary to adjust the position of the AF cursor; thus, it becomes possible to improve the operability of the digital camera.

摘要: In a digital camera, when flash shooting is performed, a maximum distance at which a subject can be illuminated to appropriate brightness is calculated based on the guide number of a flash and the open aperture value of an aperture stop, and the distance to the subject measured is compared with the maximum distance. If the distance to the subject is equal to or shorter than the maximum distance, the exposure time is set at a predetermined value, and the amount of the flash light emitted is controlled based on the amount of the light reflected from the subject, and white balance of the taken image is adjusted in accordance with the color characteristics of the flash light. If the distance to the subject is greater than the maximum distance, the exposure time is set to be longer than the predetermined value in order to use a larger amount of ambient light to illuminate the subject, and white balance of the taken image is adjusted in accordance with the color characteristics of the ambient light.

摘要: In an objective lens actuator, when an action force generation force including a focus coil and a magnetic circuit generates an action force for displacing an objective lens holder in a focus direction of an optical disk, a leaf spring supports the magnetic circuit with respect to an actuator base, in such a manner that the magnetic circuit can be rotated about an arbitrary point in the leaf spring, by a reaction force of the action force. At the same time, the equation a=I/Mh is satisfied, where M is a mass of the magnetic circuit, I is a moment of inertia of the magnetic circuit about a center of gravity, a is a distance between the center of gravity of the magnetic circuit and a line of action in a direction of the action force, and h is a distance between a center of rotation in the leaf spring and the center of gravity of the magnetic circuit. As a result, even if the reaction force of the action force acting on the objective lens holder is generated, stable focus servo can be performed, and the actuator can be downsized with a simple structure.

摘要: In an image pickup apparatus such as a digital camera with a display serving as a viewfinder, exposure is controlled by changing only an exposure time of an image pickup device without changing size of an aperture for taking an image for the viewfinder. When the exposure time of the image pickup device is insufficient to obtain a proper density of the image, the image signals of the image pickup device is amplified for compensating the insufficient exposure.
