摘要: A variable-gain power amplifying technique includes generating, with a network of one or more reactive components included in an oscillator, a first oscillating signal, and outputting, via one or more taps included in the network of the reactive components, a second oscillating signal. The second oscillating signal has a magnitude that is proportional to and less than the first oscillating signal. The power amplifying technique further includes selecting one of the first and second oscillating signals to use for generating a power-amplified output signal, and amplifying the selected one of the first and second oscillating signals to generate the power-amplified output signal.

摘要: A clamping circuit that may be used to provide efficient and effective voltage clamping in an RF front end. The clamping circuit comprises two series coupled signal path switches and a bypass switch coupled in parallel with the series coupled signal path switches. A diode is coupled from a point between the series coupled signal path switches to a reference potential. In addition, an output selection switch within an RF front end has integrated voltage clamping to more effectively clamp the output voltage from the RF front end. Additional output clamping circuits can be used at various places along a direct gain signal path, along an attenuated gain path and along a bypass path.

摘要: An ultrasonic transmitter including a linear amplifier, an output stage, a switch, and a current compensation circuit. The linear amplifier includes first and second amplifier stages. The output stage has an input coupled to output of the linear amplifier, and presents the transmitter output. The switch is coupled to the output of the linear amplifier. The current compensation circuit has an output coupled at the output of the first amplifier stage. Select circuitry is configured to couple the switch to a bias terminal when the switch is closed, and to couple one or more nodes of the switch to the control terminal of the current compensation circuit when the switch is open. The current compensation circuit generates a compensation current responsive to a sensed non-linear current conducted through the switch when open.

摘要: A method and a transmitter providing magnitude and phase adjustment for high output power radio frequency (RF) power amplifier (PA) combining are provided. According to one aspect, a method includes making adjustments to the magnitude and phase of a received signal to produce first and second amplifier input signals. The method also includes amplifying a respective one of the first and second amplifier input signals via respective first and second power amplifiers. The method further includes combining outputs from each of the first and second power amplifiers to produce a first transmit signal, and to produce an isolation signal indicative of an amount by which the outputs from the first and second power amplifiers differ in magnitude and phase. The isolation signal is used to adjust the received signal to drive the isolation signal toward zero.

摘要: This disclosure is directed to compensating for gain drift due to switching the output power of a transmitter of an electronic device. In some cellular network applications, the transmit power level of a transmitter may be frequently adjusted from a low power level to a high power level. If the power level is not switched to the desired power level within a given interval, the transmission signal may be distorted. To enable the transmitter to reach a desired output power within the interval, the voltage supply of a power amplifier may be raised during a low power symbol, which may produce an undesirable gain increase. To mitigate or eliminate the low power symbol gain increase, a gain compensation signal may be introduced into the transmitter. The compensation signal may be adjusted and refined by implementing a power control loop, the power control loop may include a signal generator.

The first bandpass filter and the second bandpass filter can provide filtering to isolate the first-direction band from the spectrally adjacent second-direction band.

The polyphase transmit system further includes an antenna that transmits the amplified radio frequency signal.

摘要: A current feedback amplifier (CFA). The CFA includes a common-gate input stage, a biasing circuitry, and a differential pair coupled in parallel between the supply voltage node and the reference voltage node. The common-gate input stage amplifies an input signal received at an input node and supplies it to a gate of the complementary transistors of the differential pair. The biasing circuitry supplies a bias voltage to a gate of the transistors of the common-gate input stage. The input node of the common-gate input stage and a node between the complementary transistors in the first path of the differential pair are shorted.
