摘要: The electronic musical instrument is provided, in addition to usual tone producing circuitries associated with playing keys, with a chord designating circuit designating, according to key depression, a plurality of notes of that constitute a chord, a change detecting circuit for detecting a change in designated chord, a note selection circuit for selecting a note from among the designated notes according to a predetermined condition related to the preceeding selected note when the chord change is detected, and a musical tone forming circuit for forming musical tones of the selected notes. Succession of the selected notes constitute a counter line melody automatically established to meet the music being played on the instrument.

摘要: An electronic musical instrument comprises an automatic rhythm performance device, an automatic bass chord performance device and an automatic arpeggio performance device. Each device has its own start-stop control circuit and a control in/out terminal. When a device is start-stop controlled, a control signal appears at the control in/out terminal, whereas if a control signal is externally applied to the control in/out terminal, the device is start-stop controlled. The control in/out terminals of the respective devices are connected together by a common line so that a start-stop of one device causes the start-stop of other devices.

摘要: An envelope generator is provided with a count circuit the count value of which is varied through addition or subtraction or combination thereof, and a conversion circuit which operates to convert the count value into amplitude data, so as to generate an envelope having a shape corresponding to variations with time of the count value. According to one aspect of the invention, the count circuit is a circuit which carries out computation for exponentially varying the count value through polygonal line approximation, so as to form an envelope of exponential characteristic. According to another aspect of the invention, the conversion circuit is a memory which has stored amplitude data corresponding to count values in advance so as to convert count values in the last linear region of the envelope obtained by the polygonal line approximation into amplitude data in exponential relation and to convert count values contained in the remaining polygonal line regions into amplitude data in linear relation.

摘要: An electronic musical instrument comprises a plurality of musical tone forming systems capable of producing musical tones of different tone qualities. A priority is established between the respective musical tone forming systems and one which is of a highest priority among one or more such systems selected by a performer is automatically selected and a musical tone can be produced only from this selected system of the highest priority. The electronic musical instrument is capable also of producing musical tones from a plurality of predetermined systems simultaneously when the priority is rendered nonoperative thereby to produce an ensemble effect.

摘要: For each section forming a music piece, music template information is supplied which includes at least information indicative of a pitch variation tendency in the section. A plurality of already-composed music pieces are preferably analyzed to store a plurality of pieces of such music template information so that any users can select from the stored pieces of music template information. For a music piece to be composed, the user enters information indicative of a tendency relating to the number of notes, such as syllable information of desired words or scat words, in each section of the music piece. On the basis of one of the pieces of music template information supplied and the user-entered information indicative of the number-of-notes tendency (syllable information), the length and pitch of notes in each section can be determined, which permits automatic generation of music piece data. If the music template information is used with no modification, an automatically composed music piece will considerably resemble its original music piece. The user can freely modify the music template information to be used, so that a music piece different from its corresponding original music piece can be created with the user's intention reflected thereon. The music template information can be easily modified by any users having poor knowledge of composition, and the present composing technique can be easily used by everyone.

摘要: A rhythm pattern is provided to be subjected to forward syncopation processing. The time position of an un-syncopated note in the rhythm pattern is shifted forward to render advanced beating of the note to make a forward-syncopated rhythm pattern. The notes in the modified rhythm pattern are given respective note pitches to establish a melody, wherein the skeleton notes in the rhythm pattern are given skeleton pitches, and the non-skeleton notes in the rhythm pattern are given non-skeleton pitches. The advanced beating of a note makes a skeleton note which plays an important role in syncopation.

摘要: Through an operation by a user, a setting is made, for each partial musical section in a music piece, as to whether or not music piece data should be generated. In accordance with the setting, a discrimination is made between a data-generating musical section where music piece data should be generated and a non-data-generating musical section where music piece data should not be generated. In automatically composing a music piece on the basis of given musical conditions, music piece data based on the given musical conditions is generated only for the data-generating musical section, and generation of music piece data based on the given musical conditions is inhibited for the non-data-generating musical section. With this arrangement, music piece data for each partial musical section in an already-composed or existing music piece can be re-created with greatly increased ease.

摘要: Key information designating a key for a tune to be composed and chord information designating chords for respective chord spans to constitute a chord progression for the tune are inputted to a melody generating apparatus. In the chord span to which a diatonic chord such as C major chord is designated, melody notes are generated using the scale notes of the inputted key, while in the chord span to which a nondiatonic chord such as DbM7 chord is designated, an available note scale is determined based on the key information and the chord information, and then melody notes are generated using the notes such as Ab Bb of the available note scale. As the notes which are neither the scale notes of the key nor the chord tones may be employed for a melody, the generated melody will have musical naturalness and fits the nondiatonic chords also.
