Abstract:
A video game includes an audio-video stream combined with game graphics and game sounds. The game graphics are overlaid on the video stream and updated in synchronization with the stream. Update of the game graphics and sounds depends on inputs received from a game player. The game player may provide input using a game controller coupled to the video game by an adapter. The video game may play on a Blu-ray player.
Abstract:
A optoelectronic pickup for a musical instrument includes at least one light source which directs light to impinge a string of the musical instrument in at least one photoreceiver located to detect the reflected light, so as to generate an electrical signal that is responsive to string vibrations. A number of dissimilar filter approaches are included to control undesired effects of spurious light, the filter approaches may be structure-based, signal processing-based, and/or optics-based.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a piano learning guidance system, comprising a piano and two hand drums, wherein the piano comprises a control module, a storage module, a first LCD display screen, a second LCD display screen, a third LCD display screen, a key recording microphone and a plurality of first LED light bars in one-to-one correspondence to keys of the piano, and each first LED light bar is formed by a plurality of first LEDs; the storage module, the first LCD display screen, the second LCD display screen, the third LCD display screen and the key recording microphone are all electrically connected to the control module; the hand drum comprises a second LED light bar and a pressure sensor, and the second LED light bar is formed by a plurality of second LEDs; and the second LED light bar and the pressure sensor are electrically connected to the control module.
Abstract:
A sound effect data generating apparatus has a starting point setting portion, an endpoint setting portion, a travel point defining portion and a data generating portion. The starting point setting portion and the endpoint setting portion set a starting point and an endpoint specified by position information, respectively. The travel point defining portion sequentially defines a point which is situated on a line connecting between the set starting point and the set endpoint and is specified by position information, as a travel point in accordance with progression of reproduced tone signals. The data generating portion determines a value of at least one parameter on one sound effect which is to be added to the tone signals on the basis of the position information of the defined travel point, the set starting point and the set endpoint, and generates sound effect data in accordance with the determined parameter value.
Abstract:
Highly expressive and flexibly programmable foot-operated controllers are described. Specific implementations are intended for musical applications and allow musicians an unprecedented degree of control of a wide variety of musical components and subsystems for recording and/or performance.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention include systems and methods for inferential generation of virtual sequencer controls in a MIDI sequencer to automate functionality of physical or virtual controls of MIDI instruments. MIDI source data from a song or a live feed is analyzed to determine a sequence of MIDI control commands from which a set of virtual sequencer controls can be automatically inferred without manual generation or configuration of the virtual control. The virtual sequencer controls are generated to automate a corresponding MIDI instrument control. Some embodiments provide functionality, including generation and handling of clone controls, use of virtual sequencer controls as slave and/or translation controls, and handling of after-click control information through a virtual synthesizers and the like.
Abstract:
Controlling playback by strokes entered via a MIDI interface or measured by one or more motion sensors is disclosed. The variations of the playback speed can also be smoothed to ensure a better musical rendition. The velocity of the strokes can also be taken into account to control the volume of the audio output and other gestures or strokes can also act on the tremolo or vibrato.
Abstract:
A wireless DJ controller includes an accelerometer, a control button, and a wireless transceiver. The wireless DJ controller detects when the control button has been depressed and accesses an output value from the accelerometer. Based on the accessed output value, the DJ controller generates a control signal and transmits the control signal to manipulate an audio signal. Methods of manipulating audio signals using the DJ controller are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A system and method is disclosed teach how to synthesizing audio. It allows specification of a musical sound to be generated. It synthesizes an audio source, such as noise, using parameters to specify the desired frequency slit spacing and the desired noise-to-frequency band ratio, then filtering the audio source through a sequence of filters to obtain the desired frequency slit spacing and noise to frequency band ratio. It allows modulation of the filters in the sequence. It outputs musical sound.
Abstract:
A system and method is introduced to facilitate the handover process of performers who are using digital vinyl systems (DVS). A DVS may be connected to an existing audio setup during the playing of another performer without interrupting the other performer and without disconnecting any connections in the existing audio setup. When the DVS is connected and a handover process is required, a switch is activated to select the DVS as the current active device for use. A DVS may be disconnected from an existing audio setup without interrupting another performer. The system may be implemented as part of an audio device or as a separate stand alone device.
