摘要: A system and method for processing prepaid financial transactions. The system and method describe the utilization of one or more remote terminals that are adapted to acquire transaction information from a user and transmit a first signal indicative of the transaction information. The remote terminal is further adapted to receive a second signal indicative of authorizing information that is delivered to the user. In addition, an authorizing host is adapted to receive the first signal transmitted by the one or more remote terminals. In one aspect, the authorizing host routes the first signal including the transaction information to an exchange host for approval of the financial transaction, and the exchange host transmits the second signal including the authorizing information to the remote terminal via the authorizing host.

摘要: A method and system of training in conjunction with a computer animation executed by a computing environment is described. The method includes recognizing a task to be performed in the computer animation, recognizing a problem, displayed in the computer animation, to accomplish the task, and solving the problem by manipulation of a virtual apparatus having virtual components displayed in the computer animation. The virtual components are manipulated by a student or user desiring to learn. The student is taught to understand logically consistent goals by using the virtual apparatus and without language interaction. Rules and properties for a subject area are modeled to the student by the virtual apparatus without language interaction. The student is taught to operate the virtual apparatus without language interaction. The student is requested to operate the virtual apparatus to reach goals in a sequence of problems having progressive difficulty and without language interaction.

摘要: A system for forming a plurality of discrete objects into a stack is disclosed which system includes a frame having a top, a bottom and sides; a conveyor associated with the frame and having an end edge for dispensing discrete objects, a first support mounted on the frame near the end edge for receiving objects from the end edge and having an opening with a width smaller than the width of the objects, a first actuator operably connected to the first support for moving the first support between first and second positions relative to the end edge; a second actuator operably connected to the first support for moving the first support between upper and lower positions relative to the frame; a second support mounted on the frame beneath the first support having a width less than the width of the opening in the first support; a third actuator operatively connected to the second support for moving the second support between high and low positions, the second support high position being higher than the first support lower position; a third support mounted on the frame at a position higher than the second support low position and having an opening wider than the width of the second support; a fourth actuator operatively connected to the third support for moving the third support between a first position beneath the first support and a second position; a sensor for determining the number of discrete objects in a stack, the sensor being operatively coupled to the to the third actuator; and a controller for controlling the first, second, third and fourth actuators. A method of using the system is also disclosed.

摘要: Authentication information, identification information, and domain configuration data are cached on a networked computer to provide increased reliability and performance. An update module manages a local cache containing a copy of centrally managed data from a domain server, directory server, or the like. An update request is sent to the update module in response to an information request by a local process. The update request may be a deferrable or non-deferrable request. Non-deferrable requests are immediately processed while deferrable requests may be deferred to a convenient time. The use of deferrable requests facilitates consolidation of cache updates and significantly reduces the processing and communications burden associated with maintaining the authentication information, identification information, and configuration data on the local networked computer.
