    Abstract: A transmitting apparatus and a transmitting method are provided. The transmitting apparatus comprises: an encoder configured to encode data for a plurality of user equipments into corresponding encoded signals, respectively; a modulator configured to perform a joint modulation on the encoded signals for the plurality of user equipments to generate modulated signals, wherein the modulator performs the joint modulation by mapping bits of the encoded signals for the plurality of user equipments to a symbol corresponding to each constellation point of a constellation map of the modulated signals so that respective constellation points satisfy a Gray mapping rule; a transmitter configured to transmit the modulated signals.

    Abstract: To achieve an appropriate random access operation even when multiple carriers to which Listen Before Talk (LBT) is applied belong to one timing advance group (TAG), a user terminal according to an aspect of the present invention includes a control unit for controlling a random access procedure on two or more carriers on which listening is performed before uplink transmission, a transmission unit for transmitting a random access preamble on at least one of the two or more carriers, and a reception unit for receiving a response signal in response to the random access preamble. The control unit controls the transmission unit to stop transmission of the random access preamble on the two or more carriers in accordance with reception of the response signal.

    Abstract: An aperiodic CSI report is appropriately triggered even when the number of component carriers that can be configured per user terminal is enhanced compared to an existing system. A user terminal includes: a reception section that receives downlink control information including information related to an instruction of transmission of aperiodic channel state information; and a control section that controls the transmission of the aperiodic channel state information, and the control section controls the transmission of the aperiodic channel state information by selecting a first modulation order or a second modulation order according to a number of serving cells and/or an index, where the first modulation order is defined in advance, the second modulation order is equal to or higher than the first modulation order, the serving cells are serving cells for which the transmission of the aperiodic channel state information is instructed, and the index is related to a modulation and coding scheme included in the downlink control information.
