    摘要: Processing may be performed by a first device on behalf of a second device to offload processing from the second device. In some aspects a device from which processing has been offloaded may be advantageously adapted to consume less power, have a smaller size, and have less complexity. Offloaded processing may be employed to enable a first device to process data for transmission and then send the data to another device for processing. Offloaded processing may be employed to enable a first device to process data on behalf of a second device and then send the processed data to the second device. In some aspects the data may be waveform encoded for wireless transmission between the devices. Offloaded processing may be implemented in a static manner or in a dynamic manner.

    摘要: Synchronized broadcast transmits a same broadcast content using a same waveform from multiple transmitters. Transmitters each apply a same spreading code for broadcast transmissions. In a spread-spectrum communication system having a time division multiplexed forward link, a synchronized broadcast transmission is inserted into a broadcast slot. One embodiment employs an Orthogonal Frequency Divisional Multiplex (OFDM) waveform for the synchronized broadcast. An OFDM receiver is then used to process the received synchronized broadcast transmission. An alternate embodiment implements a broadcast Pseudo-random Noise (PN) code for use by multiple transmitters. An equalizer is then employed to estimate the synchronized broadcast transmission.

    摘要: A speech signal is decoded by a vocoder and the reconstructed speech samples are provided to a decoded frame check unit. The decoded frame check unit examines the energy of the reconstructed speech and compares the energy of the reconstructed speech to a range of acceptable energy values. If the energy is not within the range of energy values, a frame erasure is declared and the decoded frame is prevented from being to the speaker in the telephone. In the exemplary implementation, the speech is reconstructed by a vocoder which includes a postfilter which in turn includes automatic gain control. The automatic gain control element of a post filter includes a means for measuring the energy of the decoded speech data. This measured energy is used by the decoded frame check unit to decide whether to provide the decoded data to the user or to declare a frame erasure. This implementation reduces the amount of additional hardware necessary to implement the present invention.
