Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer-readable storage medium for wireless communication at a first user equipment (UE) is provided. The UE receives an indication of one or more timers associated with a radio resource control (RRC) connection procedure with a base station via a relay. The UE transmits a request associated with an RRC connection to a second UE to be relayed to the base station and monitors for a response from the base station based on the one or more timers associated with the RRC connection procedure via the second UE as the relay.

Another example method by a UE generally includes signaling a capability of the UE to simultaneously receive, during a reception period, on a downlink and a sidelink; and receiving on the downlink while also receiving on the sidelink, in accordance with the capability.

Abstract: A relay device receives, from the base station, a configuration for minimization of drive test (MDT) measurements associated with sidelink communication and transmits a report of the MDT measurements to the base station based on the configuration. The relay may receive an availability indication of logged MDT measurements from the second UE, transmit a request for the logged MDT measurements to the second UE, and receive the logged MDT measurements from the second UE over sidelink. A remote device receives, in a sidelink message from a relay device, a configuration for MDT measurements of sidelink communication and transmits the MDT measurements to the relay device.

The UE may receive a message including a sidelink DRX configuration from the base station based on the sidelink DRX information and operate according to the sidelink DRX configuration.
