    摘要: The invention provides a method and apparatus for watermarking a document, the method comprising: associating the document with an identification number; generating (70) a first set of numbers using a seed for the number generation comprising or derived from the identification number; applying a transform (62) to at least a portion of an image of the document to form a transform of the image; defining a second set of numbers comprising transform coefficients from the transform of the image; forming a modified second set of numbers based on the first set and the second set; substituting the modified second set for the second set in the transform of the image to form a modified transform (72); and applying an inverse (74) of the transform to the modified transform to thereby produce a modified image of the document; whereby the modified image of the document or an output of the modified image constitutes the watermarked document.

    摘要: Radio frequency (RF) switch comprising an electromagnet formed on a magnet, a transmission line formed on the electromagnet and having a ground line and a signal line, and a movable contact connected to either the ground line or the signal line and capable of electrically coupling the ground line with the signal line. The transmission line is capable of propagating a RF signal if the ground line is electrically decoupled from the signal line. Conversely, the transmission line is incapable of propagating a RF signal if the ground line is electrically coupled with the signal line. The electromagnet can comprise an electromagnetic coil, formed in a layer of dielectric material, electrically coupled to a current source. Preferably, the movable contact is capable of being magnetically actuated, and is latchable. The magnet, the electromagnet, the transmission line, and the movable contact can have dimensions at a micron order of magnitude. The transmission line can be a coplanar waveguide. The coplanar waveguide can include a ground plane positioned between a layer of dielectric material and the electromagnet. The coplanar waveguide can also include means to electrically couple the ground plane to the ground line.

    摘要: A latching relay employing a movable cantilever with a first permanent magnet and a nearby second magnet is disclosed. The permanent magnet affixed to the cantilever is permanently magnetized along its long (horizontal) axis. The cantilever has a first end associated to the first pole (e.g., north pole) of the first magnet, and a second end associated to the second pole (e.g., south pole) of the first magnet. When the first end of the cantilever approaches the second magnet, the first pole of the first magnet induces a local opposite pole (e.g., south pole) in the second magnet and causes the first end of the cantilever to be attracted to the local opposite pole of the second magnet, closing an electrical conduction path (closed state). An open state on the first end of cantilever 10 can be maintained either by the second pole of first magnet being attracted to a local opposite pole in the second magnet or by a mechanical restoring force of flexure spring which supports the cantilever. A third electromagnet (e.g., a coil or solenoid), when energized, provides a third perpendicular magnetic field about the first magnet and produces a torque on the associated cantilever to force the cantilever to switch between closed and open states. A few alternate embodiments of the relay are also disclosed which include a case where the latching feature is disabled, and another case where an external magnet is used to switch the cantilever.

    摘要: Auto-focusing systems are formed by mounting a lens on a flexible membrane on top of an image sensor. A permanent magnet provides a dominantly perpendicular first magnetic field near the center of the membrane. A coil is also formed on the membrane so that a second magnetic field is produced when current flows in the coil. The interaction between the first and second magnetic field creates an attractive or repulsive force between the permanent magnet and the coil, causing the membrane and the lens to move. The position of the lens is adjusted by the coil current for the focusing operation. An alternative embodiment utilizes attraction between two magnetic poles induced by coil current to adjust lens positions. Zooming capability is realized by stacking multiple lens assemblies on top of each other.

    摘要: Methods, systems, and apparatuses are disclosed for magnetically-actuated relays/switches that suppress cantilever and/or hinge deformation. A permanent magnet produces a first magnetic field. A movable element is held between a pair of axially-aligned, rotationally flexible hinges. A space is present between the permanent magnet and the movable element. The space allows at least one end portion of the movable element to move toward the permanent magnet. A bar member is positioned in the space. A coil produces a second magnetic field to switch the moveable element between first and second stable states. At least the central portion of the movable element is magnetically attracted toward the permanent magnet. The bar member physically prevents the central portion of the movable element from flexing toward the permanent magnet due to the magnetic attraction.

For each sub-channel, the corresponding time-domain data is differentially encoded to obtain differentially encoded time-domain data; and transmitting the differentially encoded time-domain data. The received signals are converted into digital data signals, and for each sub-channel, corresponding time-domain data from the data signals is differentially decoded to obtain differentially decoded time-domain data. The time-domain data for each sub-channel is converted into frequency-domain data and the frequency-domain data is demodulated into data streams by de-multiplexing the data streams into multiple parallel frequency-domain sub-channel data.

    摘要: A micro-machined magnetic latching switch is described. A moveable micro-machined cantilever has a magnetic material and a longitudinal axis. The cantilever has a conducting layer. A permanent magnet produces a first magnetic field, which induces a magnetization in the magnetic material. The magnetization is characterized by a magnetization vector pointing in a direction along the longitudinal axis of the cantilever. The first magnetic field is approximately perpendicular to longitudinal axis. A three-dimensional solenoid coil produces a second magnetic field to switch the cantilever between a first stable state and a second stable state. The temporary current is input to the three-dimensional solenoid coil, producing the second magnetic field such that a component of the second magnetic field parallel to the longitudinal axis changes direction of the magnetization vector. The cantilever is thereby caused to switch between the first stable state and the second stable state.

    摘要: An apparatus includes an circuit and a latching micromagnetic switch that controls energy flow through the circuit. The latching micromagnetic switch includes a cantilever, a permanent magnet, and a coil configured to latch the latching micromagnetic switch in one of two positions each time energy passes through the coil. The electrical device and the latching micromagnetic switch can be integrated on a same substrate. Otherwise, the electrical device and the latching micromagnetic switch can be located on separate substrates and coupled together. The circuit can be a transistor or an array of transistors connected in parallel. If the circuit is an array of transistors, there can be an array of the switches, where each one of the switches is coupled to a corresponding one of the transistors. The switches are coupled to at least one of a source, drain, or gate of the corresponding transistor.

The magnet produces a first magnetic field with field lines symmetrically spaced about a central axis or non-uniform field lines. The switch also includes a cantilever supported by the supporting structure. The cantilever has a magnetic material and a longitudinal axis. The magnetic material makes the cantilever sensitive to the first magnetic field, such that the cantilever is configured to move between first and second states. The switch further includes a conductor located proximate to the supporting structure and the cantilever. The conductor is configured to conduct a current. The current produces a second magnetic field, which causes the cantilever to switch between the first and second states.
