    摘要: A color image forming apparatus having optics for scanning, photoconductive means and transfer means which are driven independently of each other, repetitively scanning a color original document by the optics to sequentially form latent images associated with the document on the photoconductive means which is rotating, developing each of the latent images by color toner when it is formed, sequentially transferring the resulting toner images to a paper sheet which is held on the transfer means which is rotated in contact with the photoconductive means in a predetermined transfer region, separating the paper sheet from the transfer means after the transfer by separator means which is located near the transfer means, and transporting the paper sheet separated from the transfer means to fixing means to complete a color copy. The separator means is located such that the distance between the transfer region and the separator means is shorter than a dimension of a paper sheet of the smallest size usable with the apparatus as measured in an intended direction of paper transfer. The distance between the separator means and the fixing means is longer than a dimension of a paper sheet of the largest size usable with the apparatus as measured in the intended direction of paper sheet.

    摘要: In an arrangement of a photoconductive drum and a transfer drum which are installed in a color image forming apparatus, the rotation speed of the transfer drum is increased during the interval between consecutive image transfers so as to increase the recording speed. The photoconductive and transfer drums are each rotatable about a shaft driven independently of the other. A photoconductive drum and a dielectric sheet are wrapped around the photoconductive drum and the transfer drum, respectively. The transfer drum is constituted by a hollow cylindrical frame which is made up of two rotatable rings and a connecting portion which interconnects the two rings. The rings and connecting portion cooperate to define an intermediate opening, and the dielectric sheet is positioned to close the intermediate opening. The axial width of the photoconductive drum is smaller than that of the intermediate opening. In opposite end portions of the photoconductive drum where the photoconductive material is absent, positioning disks are provided each making direct rolling contact with a portion of a respective one of the rotatable rings where the dielectric sheet is absent.

    摘要: A control device for a color copier which sets up an adequate color copying time for any particular size of transfer papers. A color document is repeatedly scanned by a scanning optical system to sequentially expose a single photoconductive drum, which is rotated at a constant speed, to a plurality of separated color components. Each of the latent images electrostatically formed on the drum is developed by a toner which is supplied from a developing device and complementary in color to the color component associated with the latent image, the resulting toner images being sequentially transferred to a transfer paper which is held on and rotated together with a transfer drum. The control device includes a paper size setting circuit for setting the size of a transfer paper to be used before a copying operation, a scanning sensor for sensing the start of a scanning performed by the optical system, and a home sensor for sensing the instantaneous angular position of the transfer drum. A control circuit is constructed to determine a transfer start time and a transfer end time in response to a paper size signal outputted by the paper size setting circuit, an ouput signal of the scanning sensor, and an output of the home sensor, and to variably control the rotation speed of the transfer drum during the interval between the transfer start and transfer end times so as to align the leading end of a transfer paper loaded on the transfer drum and the leading end of each of the toner images formed on the photoconductive drum and different in color from each other.

    摘要: Two lens groups are arranged symmetrically on opposite sides of a mirror which may be a half-mirror or a dichroic mirror. The mirror is oriented perpendicular to the optical axis of the lens groups. A light image incident on the lens assembly at an angle to the optical axis is split into two beams, one beam being transmitted through the mirror and the other being reflected by the mirror. The refraction of the two beams is the same since the reflected beam passes through the front lens group twice. Where the mirror is dichroic the beams constitute color components of the light image above and below the cutoff wavelength of the dichroic mirror.

    摘要: A device for driving a photoconductive drum of an electrophotographic copier and others is operable without the need for gears, a toothed belt and other transmission mechanisms. An outer roller type drive motor is interposed between the drum and a drum support shaft such that an outer wheel portion of the motor drives the drum by way of an engaging member. Those members with which the body of the motor and that of the copier are engaged are made of a vibration-damping material. Tapered portions which are axially movable into and out of contact with each other are provided in a drive transmitting section with which an output portion of the motor and one end of the drum are engageable. Pressing means for causing one end of the drum into contact with the outer wheel portion of the motor through the tapered portions is provided at the other end of the drum.

    摘要: A copy sheet is held between a reciprocally rotatable drum and a holding roller which bears against the drum, and for each reciprocal rotation of the drum, an electrostatic latent image corresponding to one of a plurality of selected color separation images is formed on the sheet and each image is developed with a corresponding color developing solution. A mechanism is provided which is effective to prevent misalignment, in particular, lateral misalignment, between the plurality of color separation images which are formed in superposed manner on the sheet. After the formation of the electrostatic latent image, the sheet on the drum has its free end moved away from the peripheral surface thereof and is delivered, in floating condition, into a vessel which contains a corresponding color developing solution for the purposes of developing. This manner of developing minimizes the attachment of color developing solutions to unwanted portions and to prevent a mixing of different color developing solutions.
