    摘要: An apparatus for machining a workpiece which has a non-revolute symmetrical and aspherical surface with a rotating grinding wheel. The apparatus comprises a workpiece supporting member supporting the workpiece and a wheel head providing the grinding wheel an outer peripheral surface of which takes a form of a part of a spherical shape. The workpiece and the grinding wheel are relatively moved by a first drive mechanism in an infeed direction, the workpiece supporting member and the wheel head are relatively moved by a second drive mechanism in a traverse feed direction perpendicular to the infeed direction, and the workpiece supporting member and the wheel head are relatively moved by a third drive mechanism in a pitch feed direction perpendicular to both of the infeed direction and the traverse feed direction. A truing device is moved by the second drive mechanism in the traverse feed direction relative to the grinding wheel, and has a truing element rotatable about an axis perpendicular to a rotational axis of the grinding wheel through a spherical center thereof. The first, second and third drive mechanisms are controlled by a control device based upon the aspherical shape data for the workpiece.

    摘要: A multiple-bolt insertion tool in accordance with the present invention simultaneously inserts bolts into at least two bolt holes arrayed in a workpiece and includes a bolt receiving member and a hold-and-release mechanism. The bolt receiving member includes bolt positioning portions which establish a positional relationship among the bolts that are to be inserted that matches the positional relationship of the bolt holes, and a tool positioning portion, which fits (mates with) the workpiece to locate the bolt positioning portions in alignment with corresponding bolt holes in the workpiece. The hold-and-release mechanism holds the bolts in the bolt positioning portions until the tool positioning portion is mated with the workpiece and can release the bolts from the bolt positioning portions.

    摘要: A bolt tightening device includes bolt tightening mechanisms, a torque input unit, a toothed belt and torque transmission units. The torque transmission units are provided with toothed pulleys and are integrated with the bolt tightening mechanisms. A toothed pulley is fixed to the torque input unit, and drivably connected to all the toothed pulleys of the plural torque input units by the single toothed belt. Torque input to the torque input unit is transmitted to the bolt tightening mechanisms by the toothed belt, and used to simultaneously tighten, for example, seven bolts. Because, torque can be simultaneously transmitted to plural bolt tightening mechanisms using a single belt, the number of components is reduced and the size, weight and cost are reduced and ease of use is improved.

    摘要: In a steel member surface treatment method, only a surface layer portion of the steel member is heated to its melting point or higher to form a melt, by high density energy-beam irradiation. Subsequently, the melted portion is rapidly cooled to a martensitic transformation region, to form a martensitic structure. The temperature increasing rate in irradiation of the surface layer of the steel member is preferably 7500° C./second or greater. Thereby, thermal strain and quenching failure are reduced even if the steel member is a thin plate component and a high production efficiency can be achieved.

    摘要: A surface hardening method, in which a surface layer on a thin steel plate member is stably melted and solidified to provide a high surface resistance against wear includes irradiation with a high density energy beam to melt a process surface portion of the steel member followed by rapid cooling. The melted surface portion includes a fully melted layer and an adjacent imperfectly or partially melted layer. At least the cooling to solidify the molten steel is performed in a short time period less than an austenitic transformation completion time at temperatures below melting, e.g., one-twentieth of the normal austenitic transformation time, and preferably both heating to melt the surface layer and cooling to solidify and harden the surface layer are performed in a time period less than the normal austenitic transformation completion time period. The high density energy beam can be divided to irradiate plural regions to melt the surfaces of the plural regions at the same time. The thermal capacity (or thickness) of the entire steel member can be designed to be as small as four times the thermal capacity of the process portion (or depth of melted portion) and still allow self cooling of the steel member to produce surface hardening. Additionally the melted-hardened surface has improved smoothness such as exhibited by a roughness which is only sixty percent or less of the roughness of non-processed surfaces.
