摘要： A recording head includes a recording element substrate having a plurality of discharge ports discharging a liquid and energy generating elements generating energy used to discharge the liquid from the discharge ports; an electrical wiring substrate having an opening portion in which the recording element substrate is provided and for applying a driving signal to the recording element substrate; an electrical connection portion in which an electrode portion of the recording element substrate and an electrode portion of the electrical wiring substrate are electrically connected to each other by a wire; and a sealing material covering and sealing the electrical connection portion. The electrical connection portion is provided with a reference member as a reference of at least one of an upper limit position and a lower limit position of the height of the surface of the sealing material with respect to the thickness direction of the recording element substrate.

摘要： There is inexpensively and simply provided a highly reliable printing head including a printing element substrate which is located with high positioning precision and therefore causes no occurrence of ink leak regardless of the printing head having a large printing width. An ink jet printing head comprises a plurality of printing element substrates, in each of which a plurality of ejecting openings, printing elements and an ink supply opening are provided, a support member and an ink supply member. The support member is formed of a first member and a second member that is integral with the first member so as to surround the first member, and the support member and the ink supply member are bonded in such a manner that bonding faces of the first member and the second member, and the second member are not in contact with the opening.

A linear expansivity of each of the liquid supplying members is different from a linear expansivity of the supporting member. The plurality of the liquid supplying members are arranged along a longitudinal direction of the supporting member, with each of the liquid supplying members being bonded to a surface that is opposite the main surface of the supporting member.

The discharge head also includes a supporting member including an electric connection terminal portion formed on a first surface thereof and electrically connected to the electric connection terminal, a heat transfer terminal junction portion formed on the first surface and connected to the heat transfer terminal, a plurality of through-holes extending between the first surface and a second surface of the supporting member, a partition wall portion separating the through-holes from each other, and a heat transfer path connected to the heat transfer terminal junction portion. An interval between the through-holes increases according to a direction from the first surface to the second surface. A volume of the heat transfer path increases according to the increase of the interval.
