    摘要: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques and apparatus for generating a unified format of channel state information (CSI) feedback for Very High Throughput (VHT) wireless systems. One example method generally includes generating, at a first apparatus, a frame comprising information relating to SNR if a second apparatus is communicating with the first apparatus using single-user MIMO (SU-MIMO) or multi-user MIMO (MU-MIMO) and transmitting a signal based on the generated frame to the second apparatus. Another example method generally includes generating, at an apparatus, a structure comprising CSI, wherein the CSI includes one of a first matrix with estimates of a channel associated with the apparatus or a second matrix obtained based on singular value decomposition (SVD) of the first matrix and wherein the structure further comprises an indication of which of the first and second matrices is included in the CSI; and transmitting the structure over the channel.

    摘要: Systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication. In one aspect, an apparatus for wireless communication is provided. The apparatus includes a receiver configured to receive a wireless signal comprising a packet. At least a portion of the wireless signal is configured to be received over a bandwidth lower than or equal to 1.25 MHz. The packet is formed from at least one orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol comprising thirty-two tones. The thirty-two tones correspond to frequency subcarriers within the bandwidth. The thirty-two tones of the at least one OFDM symbol are allocated as: twenty-four data tones, two pilot tones, five guard tones, and one direct current (DC) tone. The apparatus includes a processor configured to evaluate the wireless signal. The processor includes a transform module configured to convert the at least one OFDM symbol into a frequency domain signal using a thirty-two point mode.

    摘要: Techniques for performing rank prediction in a MIMO system are described. Performance metrics for a plurality of ranks are initially determined. Each rank is indicative of a different number of data streams to send simultaneously via a MIMO channel. The performance metrics may relate to the capacity or signal quality of the MIMO channel or the throughput of data transmission sent via the MIMO channel. Adjustments are applied to the performance metrics for the ranks to obtain adjusted performance metrics. The adjustments account for system losses such as losses due to an error correction code used for data transmission, channel estimation errors at a receiver, variation in interference observed by the receiver, variability in transmit power due to power control, and/or other factors. A rank is selected for use based on the adjusted performance metrics for the ranks.

    摘要: Beamforming may be used in MIMO communication systems to further enhance spectral efficiency. Beamforming refers to beamed transmissions to a single destination (e.g., a station) at a time, to enhance the rate and/or range of transmission. To perform beamforming from a source to one or more destinations, a channel and/or beamforming matrices corresponding to the channel needs to be known at the source, which may be obtained as feedback from the destination. However, the beamforming matrices may not be smooth over frequency as it is fed back from the destination. Therefore, certain aspects of the present disclosure provide beamforming feedback options, resulting in the smoothness of a beamforming matrix.

    摘要: A flexible and reconfigurable digital system (for example, a wireless modem) includes a set of sub-circuits. Each sub-circuit includes a task manager and an amount of configurable hardware circuitry for performing a type of operation on a data stream. The task manager of a sub-circuit can configure and control the configurable hardware of the sub-circuit. A central processor configures and orchestrates operation of the sub-circuits by maintaining a set of task lists in a tightly coupled memory. Each task list includes task instructions for a corresponding sub-circuit. The task manager of a sub-circuit reads task instructions from its task list and controls its associated hardware circuitry as directed by the instructions. A timestamp task instruction and a push task instruction and the task list architecture allow modem sub-circuits to be easily reconfigured to operate in accordance with either a first air interface standard or a second air interface standard.
